What's the difference between Hyde coming back vs Poyer not coming back this year?

Poyer is obviously washed seeing his play on the field.... But is Hyde not washed? Playing a half a season...maybe? Will he eventually start over Damar? Will he reach the active 53? Our current depth at safety isn't great especially with release of Edwards..... What's you're guys thoughts
