BillsFanNC Posted December 4 Posted December 4 This thread is inspired by a post in another thread and I thought it would be interesting to see where other people are at. I'm pretty sure that I'll be in the 1% since anyone who comes to PPP and puts their useful idiocy on display automatically goes on the ignore list fairly quickly, and I'm sure there are many people with nobody on their ignore list. Anyway, I will begin. Current number of users on BillsFanNC ignore list: 65. I will say that well over 50% of those are names that haven't been seen in years such as: THEHARDTRUTH, Q-baby and The Trump Virus to name a few. We just had EasternOH post some drivel and he of course was already on my ignore list from way back when, so it's good to keep this list current and not cull it periodically just in case any of these idiots decide to drop in once in awhile. All of them I'm certain are coping and seething in their own TDS fueled way these days.... 1
The Frankish Reich Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Three cheers for solipsism! I'm proud of you buddy. You should start more threads like this. or, If a forum poster ignores everyone else on the forum, does it make a sound? 2
njbuff Posted December 4 Posted December 4 I don’t use the ignore function. EVERYONE has a right to their opinion. And we, in turn, have a right to disagree and call people out on their crap. I fully understand why folks would wanna ignore some posters, but that’s not for me. 2 1 1

Why be here if your sole purpose is to performatively "ignore" other posters? Kind of defeats the purpose of a forum, doesn't it... 1
njbuff Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Just now, The Frankish Reich said: Exactly. Why be here if your sole purpose is to performatively "ignore" other posters? Kind of defeats the purpose of a forum, doesn't it... There is a poster on another Bills forum whose sole purpose is to create the largest ignore list known to man. I don’t understand it. If a poster has zero interest in dialogue why be on a message board? 2

I agree 100% njbuff that everyone has the right to POST whatever they want as long as they adhere to the TOS. And the TOS policing is certainly much looser here than on the main board. However, you don't have the right to make other people READ what you post and that's what the ignore function is for. It makes for a far better cesspool experience. BTW there are quite a few left of center posters here who are not on my ignore list. This is because they are not useful idiots. The ignore list has very limited value regardless as most people override their own ignored posters and click on read anyway. Then there's also the lack of ignoring quoted posts which would be ideal. And then there's Finding Qanon who continues to pretend that I'm pretending to ignore it. 1
B-Man Posted December 4 Posted December 4 I went for years and years without using the ignore function. I agreed with the idea that everyone had the right to post whatever. However some posters swamp each thread with back and forth gibberish causing informational posts to be drowned out. So I eventually blocked @BillStime The ones who do it today I just skip by. . 2
nedboy7 Posted December 4 Posted December 4 You are such a pu**y. Then why do you come here to discuss crap.

leh-nerd skin-erd Posted December 4 Posted December 4 I'm at about 10, though some are names I don't recognize anymore. My thought is that the negativity from another poster can drag me down, but I can work around that. Imo some posters are gigantic time wasters, and I can handle that as well. When a poster mixes negativity with time wasting, I occasionally remember to add them to ignore. 1 1

I can answer this, it gives them a sense of enjoyment to tell everybody online how they despise trump and MAGA and that’s how they feel better about themselves 3

There are some people, companies etc. that I may have been interested in hearing from at one point, but no longer. They've become irrelevant. So you unsubscribe from their email list. It works somewhat but eventually a few always sneak through your spam filter. I can't remember if it was Billstime or Tibs, maybe both of them, that would argue that putting someone on an ignore list is violating their free speech. It's brilliant takes like that that land you on my ignore list in the first place. As if ignoring the BLM commie activist screech in the local town square is violating their 1st amendment rights. 1
BillsFanNC Posted December 6 Author Posted December 6 (edited) This is precisely why I have the King's and Finding's of PPP on ignore. They approach issue after issue using similar logic to this lawyer arguing in front of SCOTUS. People who live 24/7 under a green sky deserve none of your attention. Alito asks whether transgender is an immutable characteristic. Strangio argues that there is a "strong biological basis" between sex and gender identity. Therefore, it is immutable. In the very next question, Alito asks about gender fluidity. Strangio argues that gender identity is informed by an individual's "understanding." Therefore, it is fluid - the very antithesis of immutable. It should not be lost on us that we live in a time where the US Supreme Court is presented two arguments back-to-back that are completely and undeniably in contradiction with each other while the arguing attorney has the ability to carry on with full confidence, lacking any awareness of these glaring problems. Thus, we have some of the best legal minds in the country hearing arguments from someone who not only cannot identify her own contradictions but does not appear to comprehend the very concept of "contradiction" in the first place. I guess this shouldn't be much of a surprise since the judicial bench is shared with another justice who casually compares the risks of taking aspirin to the chronic administration of deforming and sterilizing hormones. There are many questions that will arise from the Skrmetti case but one that I imagine we will be pondering for quite some time is how we got to this situation in the first place. Coffeesforclosers Posted December 6 Posted December 6 21. Mostly people who have usernames starting with "Pats...". The rest are ditto heads who post nothing Xitter shares. Or wannabe intellectuals who can actually write three sentences, but don't actually understand the words they're typing.

Brandon Posted December 6 Posted December 6 Five. I only block people who are intentionally stirring ****. I don't have the time or patience for idiots who argue for the sake of having an argument. 3
