I just hope we don’t have to watch him chase somebody down. That and emergency depth are all I want him here for. Edited December 5 by SoonerBillsFan 2 Quote

Coach Tuesday Posted December 5 Posted December 5 (edited) Going against the grain here a bit but I thought Hamlin was the worst player on defense Sunday night. (I know, Oliver struggled but it was not a game for a penetrating 3T to shine). Hamlin was really bad. Edited December 5 by Coach Tuesday Quote
HappyDays Posted December 5 Posted December 5 Late to the party here but I kind of don't like this. With Hyde's neck issues I would rather he just stay retired. I get it, it's hard to give the game up, but one bad hit could cause decades of issues. I really don't want to see that happen. But hey I hope he gets a much deserved Super Bowl ring this year, and that he gets it without having to take the field a single time. Quote
Straight Hucklebuck Posted December 5 Posted December 5 (edited) I don’t know if they help themselves if he just sits on the practice squad. He’ll find his way back into the field. This team can’t let go signing ghosts of Christmas past. Edited December 5 by Straight Hucklebuck 1 Quote
ColoradoBills Posted December 5 Posted December 5 Once again, I will not get ahead of the facts. Hyde signed to the PS. It's going to take a couple weeks minimum for them to see what he still can do and for him to get into "better" shape. Maybe elevate him for the first NE game and give him some snaps. Evaluate what you have AFTER that. I like the PS signing a lot. Quote

All we can do is wish them the best if we aren’t going to walk away from watching. Its a dangerous game. Edited December 5 by NoSaint 1 Quote
beerme1 Posted December 5 Posted December 5 22 Hours ago I said this "I don't see this happening. Just my two cents." This aged real well. If you see me post something, bet the house the other way! 1 1 Quote

It's probably pretty close because of the age difference alone, but man....earlier this season, Hamlin looked like one of the slowest players I have ever seen in the NFL. I would probably take Micha, but he had obviously lost a step last year, especially as the season went along. That said, he is coming in with fresh legs and no wear and tear from the season on his body. There is a chance he comes in and looks way better than he did last season. Or, he could look shot because he hasn't been training for football games directly. My guess is, though, this didn't happen overnight. I am sure there have been discussions for a while now and I would be shocked if he didn't already have the playbook prior to today to get refreshed on everything or learn anything new that was put in this season. I am guessing he has been ramping up his training and I fully expect him to hit the ground running and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him elevated and on the field in some capacity in the next 2-3 weeks. There’s no way the timing was pure coincidence. Hyde didn’t just wake up today and decide he’s coming back. The Bills haven’t given away his number OR LOCKER all year. Some of that may have been aspirational, but I have to think there’s been a few realistic convos between Hyde and McBeane. And it seems like Hyde was/is willing to come back for the playoffs and maybe a little of the home stretch of the regular season. Him signing now gives him a window to get into game shape, reacclimate, etc., and be potentially ready to contribute come playoff time. One side note regarding McD’s comments today: I think he’s being completely honest, but also that it means nothing. When answering questions about Hyde’s potential contributions, I think he’s speaking in the immediate present and taking nothing for granted. Meaning even if he’s more or less planning on having Hyde start, he won’t actually do it unless/until Hyde looks the part in practice. And a guy who’s been out of practice for is definitely not ready to contribute right this moment. Edited Monday at 07:16 PM by Cash 1 Quote

without a drought Posted December 5 Posted December 5 Considering the Hyde never retired, it would be hard for him to have unretired or stay retired. 1 Quote
