The Firebaugh Kid Posted December 4 Posted December 4 I wonder if the players knew this was eventually coming, therefore this was part of the reason Edwards was so..... pissy? Quote

He’s a former teammate and captain. And he can help your team win a Super Bowl. 1 Quote

PoundingDog Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Hyde will be Hamlin's replacement position wise, and we can all agree Hamlin is the weakest (talent wise) starting player on this Bills team. The coaches have to see if Hyde is better than Hamlin before making any decisions. Also like someone pointed out, should help Bishop. This is an insurance for the playoffs. I agree it's not a guarantee he gets on the field. There is Hamlin, and maybe Bishop ahead of him right now and that's why he's signed to the practice squad. But things can change. I do appreciate the willingness of Hyde to go to the practice squad because many, including me, speculated Hyde may not play for peanuts if he does come back (another reason others don't believe he would attempt to come back other than December for reduced cost to the Bills). Looks like he just wants a ring! 1 Quote

This puts him back on the film room, back on the practice field and back on the sideline even if he's not active. He will be helpful in all areas even if he doesn't actually suit up. 2 6 1 Quote

Cant wait to see Rapp and Hyde back there as the Safeties. Hamlin is one of the best tacklers on the team and a big reason why the Bills have the best tackling secondary in the NFL on passes. 5 4 3 Quote
BillsVet Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Obviously this move was timed by Pegula and the Machiavellian McDermott to deflect from the Sabres' historic loss last night. 1 4 2 Quote
peterpan Posted December 4 Posted December 4 I personally hope it’s a depth signing. Our safeties have been quite good and i don’t want to mess with success. 1 Quote
boyst Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Id not replace Hamlin for Hyde. Hamlin has been playing well. He doesn't get enoughh credit here. He's played behind a porous DL, backup LB's and run avoiding CBs Hyde will get time but I'd make him a package player. And I'd have him ready against Detroit if possible with limited time the last 3 weeks. He is smart enough to matchup against smart QB's. You can't fool him. But, Hamlin should start. 1 1 2 Quote
EasternOHBillsFan Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Not only a total depth move, but a total CLASS move as well. Micah Hyde deserves one more title shot, and I am beyond excited to see him have that chance. Even if he doesn't start, just having him in the building again and maybe suited up at the end of the season getting reps is OUSTANDING NEWS. I love it. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 Quote
Flip Johnson Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Whatever you think about Hamlin, Micah Hyde didn't leave San Diego and come back to Buffalo in December to run around on the practice squad and be ready in case someone gets hurt. He will be starting at safety in the playoffs. 1 1 Quote

Run avoiding CBs? Are you watching the same games I am? Taron Johnson is like a cross between a LB and nickel CB with how he knifes into the backfield and makes plays against the run and Douglas has had several big TFLs by drilling RBs in the backfield. Cam Lewis essentially allowed the Bills to get back in the Cardinals game with his multiple big plays in the run game. I don't think this is an accurate statement at all. 1 Quote

GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had been on the fence with this thought until we signed him. Now I am convinced they didn't sign him to practice or just be a depth player. They can get someone with a future on the practice squad and I'd needed could have called him after an injury or someone else for an insurance depth player. I'm convinced he will end up playing. Id hope as a package player. Pull Hamlin on passing downs and out in Hyde - my desire. Just now, Big Turk said: Run avoiding CBs? Are you watching the same games I am? H2o Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Hopefully, having almost a year off from the game, hits, and practices have allowed all of those nagging injuries to heal. If we could have a fully healthy MH for a Playoff run, that would be outstanding. 1 Quote

Even if he doesn't play (highly doubtful) or barely plays, he will be a part of the 2024 Buffalo Bills, and that may prove to be a story for the ages. Let's hope. 3 Quote
Andrew Son Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Hopefully he moves in with Cole Bishop for the rest of the season. 4 Quote
