Nice award.  It's not even the numbers or the splashy play.  Put any of the other 30 starting QB's in that game, in that weather, and it would be VERY difficult to put any kind of healthy stat line together let alone a 141.3 rating.  I think Mahomes would do OK and maybe Burrow?, and of course Allen.  That's the list.

I figured he'd get it after getting the hat trick throwing, running, and catching TDs.

I’m surprised it wasn’t Russell. Guy threw it all over the yard this week.

Wow, wasn't even against the Fins this time 🤣🤣

It’s just assumed at this point he’ll win this award vs the fins. Almost a participation trophy, really.

Against other teams is how you know he really earned it!

The early 90s teams, Jimbo, Bruce, Thurman, Tally et. al., has been my jam for decades. Josh Allen is my favorite Bills player now.

Didn’t Groot win it in week 1 too this year?

Nah, he plays defense.

The great irony:

the jaw-dropping explosive improvisation that probably sealed the award for Josh was the by-product of a fairly poor pass from Josh.

It was a wobbly ball that was thrown behind Cooper. If not for Cooper's awareness and one-handed acrobatics, it could have been disaster. The reason Josh was in position for the pitch was that he realized the ball was off course and Cooper was being molested by three defenders hoping to relieve Coop of the pigskin. Josh put himself in position to become a defender if the ball was lost. Josh was lucky that Cooper's arm was free enough to toss the ball.

In short, a poorly executed play from Josh turned into a highlight reel play. He turned lemons into lemonade.

Congrats (again) JA17.
