Saying that, he has to get over the hump and I still have doubts whether he will be able to do so. Bizarre decision making is still creeping into the game. The defense still cannot stop the run. They did not look competitive against the Ravens, nor in the first half against the Texans. I've been critical and had doubts since 13 seconds about whether the Bills would win a ring under him. Although this season has been better than expected, really aided by the arrival of Cooper, has he shown enough development and adjustment against the issues they've had before, particularly on the defensive side? For now, I'm inclined to say no. I hope I'm wrong.

 

Bizarre decision making creeping into the game... A defense that cannot stop the run... Starting the game flat (and the defense never recovered)...

My view has reverted. McD is a CRAP game day manager that any 14-year-old playing Madden would run rings around, and for THIS week Dunne is right, the team wasn't able to overcome the coach.

I just can't imagine us ever winning 3-4 consecutive playoff games under this coach. We are not going to win those games by two scores. McDermott is going to have to make situational coaching decisions in critical moments in close games and he is maybe the WORST coach in the league in those moments, certainly out of all the contenders at least.

 

I just can't get over a 6 TD performance ending in a loss because our head coach lost his head on two separate occasions. While his defense got trampled all game long.

I said earlier in this thread that I feel McDermott is a very good coach but won’t be great until he beats a team on par with his or better than his in the playoffs.

 

With saying that, if the Bills lose in the tournament due to their defense, they need to seriously think about turning the reins over to Joe Brady.

Josh Allen literally was Superman today and McD along with this trash defense wasted this performance.
