Gugny Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM Seven years ago today, Gronk lost his cool and hit Tre White with his bionic arm. He got suspended for one game without pay. After seeing Al Sharia’s hit on Trevor Lawrence earn him a 3-game suspension, I think Gronk’s penalty was appropriate. 3 Quote

US Egg Posted yesterday at 05:27 PM Posted yesterday at 05:27 PM (edited) Great timing on the thread. Can there be a thing as different level of scumbag hits? If so I’m going with Gronkowski’s as 1st degree, Al Shaair as 2nd. Edited 23 hours ago by US Egg Oops, Shaair, not Sharia. 1 Quote
BADOLBILZ Posted yesterday at 05:58 PM Posted yesterday at 05:58 PM I am glad the Bills fanbase is no longer in that whiny bichass sore loser mode like back then. The exaggerated outrage over that hit was akin to that mom who claimed her daughter was thrown down the stairs at the game the other night. There were jackasses that wanted Gronk to do prison time for a hit that wouldn't be in the top 10 of collisions in any given game. Just because it was "premeditated". As if what happens in the game is never premeditated. 1 2 1 3 Quote
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM I was at this game, the first live one I’d attended in a couple years. The Gronk hit really distracted from what was otherwise the most boring game in football history. Quote
Ralonzo Posted yesterday at 06:04 PM Posted yesterday at 06:04 PM Gronk's move wasn't a football play, it was breaking a bottle over the back of someone's head at a bar. Al-Shabab was more like using knucks in a fight on a guy who already tapped, also a scumbag move but tangentially within the framework of the event. 1 1 1 Quote
Another Fan Posted yesterday at 06:08 PM Posted yesterday at 06:08 PM (edited) Seemed he went from a local well respected kid on these forums to ultimate scumbag after that play. Edited yesterday at 06:08 PM by Another Fan 1 1 Quote

Ultimate scumbag? Nah. Shaking the post career goofball image? Yeah, that’s gonna stick for awhile, but it pays, so…..??? Were he to consider pro wrestling the “Ultimate Goofball” kinda fits. Bad Things Posted yesterday at 06:16 PM Posted yesterday at 06:16 PM So, you started this thread to stick up for that dumbfark, Gronk now? 1 Quote

Maybe that wasn’t the best choice in words but it seems he was never exactly forgiven. Quote

It was a scum bag move, but were it not a Bill he did it to, it likely get no run in here. He doesn't have a history like Al Shaair. Edited 22 hours ago by US Egg 1 Quote

MJS Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago The Gronk hit was worse because it was well after the play. 2 Quote
947 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Tre was laying face-down on the turf, out of bounds, the whistle had blown the play dead. Gronk did an elbow-drop straight out of the WWE, while wearing a huge metal brace. That is worse than any hit that happens within the context of a play, legal or not. 2 3 Quote

As if what happens in the game is never premeditated. I think there's a big difference between a dirty hit during a play, and elbow-dropping a prone player, from behind, with a metal brace, in the back of the player's head after the whistle. I am of the opinion that the league did not take those aggravating circumstances enough into account. Just now, US Egg said: I think Shaair’s forearm says otherwise, but it was “in the moment” unlike Gronkowki, who couldn’t handle White getting the best of him and lost it. Agree. Utterly dirty hit that has no place in the game. Quote
