I've been an NFL Sunday Ticket holder for decades. The switch from Direct TV to Youtube TV has been great, but I've discovered a hack (sort of) to improve it by removing the game announcers (desirable when, say, CreeperC is on the call). In my setup, I use Roku to access YouTube TV and my audio system is stereo, not 5.1 surround. In the Roku Home menu, you are able to go to Settings>Audio>Digital Output Format. Set that to "Auto", which allows reception of 5.1 surround audio. Then make sure you're TV audio system is set to deliver audio in Stereo.

This works because the play-by-play/color analyst calls, in 5.1 surround, come out of the center channel. But if you're listening to the audio through a stereo setup, you don't get the center channel and don't hear the announcers. What you can hear is all ref calls, the crowd in the stands, and much more of what players are saying.  And if you are in WNY, you could line up the Chris and Eric on the radio broadcast as well. #GoBills

Games need announcers. It would be too weird watching without them

We provide our own commentary. When you know you can lose the announcers, your tolerance level for crappy ones approaches 0.0.

Sounds like something I’d enjoy, but don’t have the setup.

I have a Boomerang neck speaker that significantly enhances hearing crowds, players and refs. It’s great for movies too. It has surround sound. Initially bought it to watch TV at night so as not to disturb my wife. It far exceeds what I expected for $70.

For the less tecnically inclined hack my dad watched the game with the sound off but the radio on and tuned to the Bills' game. The radio announcer's play by play is more informative. He has to be -- he's painting a picture in the listener's mind with words.. Try it; you'll like it.
