The Browns and Broncos both have upcoming battles with Kansas City. Good to see these clubs flashing some offense.

It's incredible how much Watson held them back.

I hate the interpretations of a 'football move'. He had it in his hands and turned around with it and started to run..

Turned around and tucked it.

I saw plenty of Nix when he played for Auburn and Oregon. Thought he was a decent college QB but he’s really looking the part of a big time QB in the NFL.  I saw Denver play at Tampa earlier this season and Nix was unstoppable. Just super accurate. Denver has their guy.

Saw Nix in Auburn and thought he was literally undraftable.

The COVID era is gonna change a lot of notions of developing QBs in college imo.

Also shout out to @NeverOutNick I think for being a Bo Nix truther.

Yep, he was dreadful, the fans hate him. The Browns will pull the same thing Denver did with Russell Wilson and eat the massive cap hit.

His dead cap hit is so huge that I’m not sure that they’ll be able to field a team

Watson's cap hit is a whole different level than what Wilson's was..

If they cut him in 2025 (post 6/1 designation), it's $119 dead in 2025 and $59 in 2026

If they cut him in 2026 (post 6/1 designation), it's $74 in 2026 and $27 in 2027

Those are debilitating numbers that they'd have to gut the roster just to cut Watson.

Add to the mix that currently they will be $48M over the cap to start next season.

Thanks @FireChans for the props. I really did love this draft class for QBs and WRs. Nix got better every year in college and consistently made precise throws on the run, that stood out to me and felt like it would translate in todays NFL

frick, this one’s not on ABC also?

Damn you, NFL.  Damn you.

I know, I can never watch Monday night football anymore because its only on ESPN. I have ESPN+ but that isn't good enough. Have to have cable or a $80 streamer service. The hell with that.

I wonder how many young kids would've succeeded with more development like Nix had. Would guys like Darnold and Rosen have benefitted significantly from more years in college?  Trubisky?

Very interesting food for thought. I think if I'm a GM, I consider only drafting dudes who play 4 years in college going forward.

Broncos are to me the very definition of an average team, maybe slightly above average. They're currently 0-5 against teams with winning records, and 7-0 against teams without winning records (4-0 against NFC South).  If that holds the rest of the season they go 10-7 and likely snag a wild card, followed by a first round of playoff loss. But, then next year they can potentially build on this season and maybe take the next step to be a good team.  Certainly a lot more hope around here than the Russ years.

Yeah everytime I try to do that I get all kinds of BS that come along with it that I have to clean.  Whether thats pop up adds or them trying to install something or whatever. Too much hassle.

In any case enjoy the game all. I'll look in the morning to see if Denver left the door open for Miami or not.
