Mat68 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Hamlin is playing good. Making tackles and around the ball. He should be celebrated. Nearly dying and 2 years later the starter and playing at a pro bowl level. He isn't dynamic or a big hitter. Just where he should be and getting his mitts on footballs. Made Edwards expendable and keeping a high pick on the bench. Dude is not just a feel good story anymore, he is also a good player. 1 1 Quote
Irv Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 I had serious doubts he would make the 53-man roster. So good for him. But he's no Da'Rick. 2 Quote
VW82 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Surely this point has been made already, but how great would it be for Hamlin to actually make the Pro Bowl, and then for some dumb team to sign him to a big contract so we can promote Bishop AND get compensated for it. Quote
TheBrownBear Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 He was shaky during the first third of the season, but he's steadily improved to the point where he doesn't stick out as being a weakness. Not a Pro Bowl quality player, but certainly an acceptable starter on the back end. Quote

He’s a JAG out there and has given up big plays due to being slow in recognition and foot speed. Rapp is playing at near a pro bowl level, that guy has single-handedly prevented quite a few TDs from happening. Not true with Damar. Hamlin is Joe B’s next to last rated qualifying player and is more of a feel good story than an impact defender. No ill will towards the guy, I love that he’s fully back from his scare, but he 100% needs to be upgraded in the offseason. Quote

Yah, he used to drive me crazy with false starts but the man was an absolute road grader. Certainly popularity contest is part of it. Playing pretty good this year, he's taken a real leap upwards, but not at a Pro Bowl level. Still a terrific lineup there, though. Edited December 4, 2024 by Thurman#1 1 1 Quote
