Hamlin?........i'm going to be the first one to say it, that no one and i mean no one, saw that coming.

I guess their basis of standards has hit an all-time low.

Good on the man, but like, come on now.....

He has been playing much better than anyone could have imagined going into the year but no way he deserves to be in the Pro Bowl, let alone leading the voting.

Pro Bowler used to be a meaningful designation.

Now it's just a popularity thing

You'd have to go back DECADES to get past the popularity contest.

How many times did Ruben Brown get voted onto the PB team? How many times did he really deserve it vs that was the only Guard name people recognized?

Heck, my dad and I had a theory that it was defensive players voting for him just to keep him around longer.

Reminds me of the time John Scott was the leading vote getter for the NHL All-Star game after fans all started creating a campaign for him.

Yes but it’s still an honor, especially the first one.

I don’t understand why if you make the pro bowl but decline you’re not considered a pro bowler that year. Happened to Allen a couple times.

Well, pretty much everybody on earth has heard of him, so there you go.

I mean he doesn't deserve it but that is pretty cool

I think he's played really well, and elevated his game.

Maybe just be happy for him instead of negative.

Kind of tired of all the unwarranted hate Hamlin and to a lesser extent Rapp get around here. We got spoiled for years with Poyer and Hyde. And Rapp and Hamlin aren't as good as Poyer and Hyde were in their prime. I'll grant that

But you know who else wasn't near as good? Poyer and Hyde last year. While Hamlin and Rapp are pretty close to "league average" level players they have been a step up from our safety play last year.

Hamlin is a great story, he's playing fairly well this season (exceeding expectations), and he's made some big plays in nationally televised games.  Is he among the best in the league at his position?  No.  Do I care that much about Pro Bowl voting?  No.  If my memory serves me correctly, the Ravens' backup QB was in the Pro Bowl recently.  So kudos to Damar for getting the votes and I hope he makes it.

Well he's apparently getting on well with a lack of fan support if TBD is anything to go by.

Ruben Brown had some faults but he was absolutely very good

There's not many NFL players that started every single game they ever played no matter what team they were on

181 games 181 starts

The NFL doesn't keep you starting that long unless you're doing something right... He never lost a competition for his job

Was he the best guard in the NFL? No

He certainly was top six for a decade... This is the franchise fan base that complains about Dion Dawkins and wants to kick him inside to guard when he's one of the best tackles in the world
