Rockpile233 Posted yesterday at 12:03 AM Posted yesterday at 12:03 AM (edited) I have aisle seats. I’ve never seen so many people fall so badly at a game, the footing going up and down was very poor. It was nearly all Niners fans, some with shocking footwear decisions. Saw way too many sneakers. I find this story as reported impossible to believe. No. I want facts, not a bunch of speculation on what happened. It's either a pure accident, or bs. If it was an accident,I don't see Bills fans just sitting there doing nothing and not helping the kid. Any mention of that? No. Quote

The parents saw the drunk guy, then their kid falling and overreacted like parents do and said she was shoved/pushed. Edited yesterday at 01:51 AM by Not at the table Karlos Quote

coloradobillsfan Posted yesterday at 12:54 AM Posted yesterday at 12:54 AM There is, as of now, absolutely zero corroboration to this story. The first 3 words of AB's post even demonstrate he doesn't know either. I hope the little girl benefits from the money regardless, but if this was cooked up to get donations that's pretty low. 2 Quote

You would think the parents (at least the father) would have had a fight to the death over this, and there would be some sort of reference to that. There would also have been a major fight in the crowd, probably involving dozens of people... and as you mentioned, the police would have been heavily involved and part of the story. You would also think there would be some sort of injury that this person would be happy to publicize. Oh shucks, our little girl cancer survivor got tossed down the stairs by a drunk. I guess its time to leave now. Warm up the car and Ill start posting about it on insta I remember a story Tim Graham did in the past about throwing snow ball at players. Apparently security has cameras all around the stadium and every thing is recorded. So if anything happened between the times when fans are in the stadium like snowballs or fighting, they are able to find the incident and the parties involved. 1 1 Quote

The little girl was decked out in her 49ers gear and some 280 lb drunk Bills fan saw her and was pissed off. When he passed by her on the slippery steps, he bumped her with a hip or forearm and she went tumbling down the stairs. It's a very disgraceful incident Quote

I would tend to think along these lines as well. It sounds like someone bumped into the kid and they fell down the stairs. Reading the original tweet makes you think she was purposely shoved. I don’t think that person makes it out of the stadium if that was the case. 2 Quote

I don’t think that person makes it out of the stadium if that was the case. At the Steelers playoff game people were slipping down the stairs left and right with out anyone touching them. I went down a few rows walking slow and carefully to my seats. I really hope someone didn’t push a kid but it really seems like an accident the more the family talks. Quote
Just Jack Posted yesterday at 01:26 AM Posted yesterday at 01:26 AM (edited) Has anyone considered that maybe the girl was talking ***** to the Bills fan and went a little too far with her comments? Yes, I'm being sarcastic. Edited yesterday at 01:27 AM by Just Jack Quote
Goin Breakdown Posted yesterday at 01:28 AM Posted yesterday at 01:28 AM As a parents I'd be pissed for sure but you can't assume all mills fans are pushing little kids down stairs in a drunken rage. Quote

Where does the parent’s account of the incident say the drunk guy fell down the stairs too? In addition, maybe the guy didn’t mean to push the girl down the stairs, but if he was so drunk that he had no sense for his surroundings, that’s not really acceptable either. I don’t really have sympathy if someone was inebriated and a kid got hurt as a result, whether they meant to push the kid down the stairs or not. Quote

So if anything happened between the times when fans are in the stadium like snowballs or fighting, they are able to find the incident and the parties involved. There are more cameras and technology in the stadium that you would think given the age of the facility. We were talking to one of the yellow-jacketed security guards at the entry gate a few weeks ago for the KC game. She was an older lady and had some... interesting details. I guess they have multiple high-res cameras trained on each entry lane at all times - they have the ability to read lips if there is any kind of disagreement or argument about who said what. Same thing for each section of seating, it is how they often sort out who is at fault by judging who says what. They also apparently tie your picture to your ticket - such that when you scan your ticket on entry, they take your picture and immediately know if you've been previously banned from the stadium or even if you're in an area of the stadium where you shouldn't be (e.g. not ticketed for it). I never know how much I should believe these claims from low-level employees, but she either was telling the truth or an extremely good story teller. All that said, regarding this situation... The truth usually lies somewhere in the middle. I doubt she was "thrown" down the stairs but I also think it's highly probable a drunk fan unintentionally bumped into her and she fell. Said Bills fan noticed the Niners gear and makes some wisecrack about it, making it appear intentional. The parents don't like it and in the process embellish the details a bit. I am certain they have security footage. All that said I would not sit in the 300s at the stadium with a kid that young, especially at a night game after the crowd has had an entire day of tailgating in the lots. Should it be that way? No... but it's the reality. I would stick to the 100s or the clubs with kids. Quote
