Ok, so are you saying no one pushed past them and the girl never fell?

No I'm saying she could have been accidentally bumped and fell

Do you know how many people were falling on Sunday? Plenty of people who are not even getting pushed

So yeah did somebody maybe bump into her and she fell not nefariously... I think that's more likely than a grown man shoving a little girl and then getting away with it

If the latter happened well that's terrible and shame on the guy and he should be in jail

Between the mom's original post and the dad and daughters interviews, there's four different versions of how it happened.

It's the fact that they made a serious claim, and then told three different versions that each backtracked from the seriousness, along with not a single first hand account of anyone seeing it.

This guys assumed guilty until proven otherwise.  Ate the emotion loaded super victim vs. cartoon villain narrative, hook line and sinker.  And expects proof of something that didnt happen.  You cant prove something that didnt happen.  You can disprove specific accusations.  Ppl are going to be afraid to speak out that this didnt happen, because what if it happened and they didnt see it.  Or happened when they went to get a beer, or use bathroom.  No single soul went there to watch this family uninterrupted. Not any one person can prove this didnt happen.

The upside of saying "I was there, that didnt happen" is next to zero.  The downside of saying it, and then you were distracted by the game or were gone to pee for 3 mins, and then someone produces footage, has an infinite downside.  Fired. Cancelled. Involved in a civil suit.

However, collectively, their were 50,000 ppl around them the entire time.  At any one point, had it happened SOMEBODY wouldve seen it.  Its been 3 days.  So either nothing happened at all like is being claimed OR the stadium is filled with ppl who hate kids with cancer, and our huge active rivalry with a team we play every 4 years, cross continent, in our much despised adjacent NFC West division team in the 49ers.  What a long held deep rooted bias we have against them!!!! Rrrrrrghhhh, it makes me want to slap a newborn koala that they exist!  Our 9'ers hatred exceeds 55k peoples disdain for child abuse.

Maybe a Marine is the most well self-controlled father on earth to not lay hands on or make any type of scene at all.  I heard the bar to enter into military is lower than ever.  He's one of those docile "tips of the spear."

Maybe we filled that stadium up with San Quenton hardened criminals that day

The onus is on the accuser to provide a single shred of proof here. Which shoulda be hella easy with that many people/cameras, and how angry child abuse makes 99.9% of the population.  Or maybe 55k ppl all missed this heinous boisterous guy yelling he was going to throw a kid down the stairs/push down the stairs/her chair/ "a 49ers chair".

So you expect him to run down these slippery stairs past his daughter that had just been knocked into a chair, to instead go a beat the crap out of some drunk guy and maybe end of up in jail or get beat up himself?  Not everyone is looking to be the next Conor McGregor.

The Buffalo News not running with the story is the biggest tell to me

If they ran with the story it would have a lot more legs because they have the best reputation out of the western New York print

WIVB doesn't hold the same weight .. wyrk doesn't hold the same weight

Buffalo News has associated press writers and journalists... Who would love to get this scoop and they're not running with it

Like most things, the truth probably lies in the middle. I think it's somewhere in between a complete accident and a focused attack.

Did the guy want to push a little girl down the stairs? Probably not.

Could he have been more careful? Probably so.

Would he have been more careful if they werent wearing 9ers gear? Maybe, we'll never know. Plenty of Bills fans get bumped by drunks too.

So yeah. She got pushed, bumped, whatever. The team reviewed the security footage and see "something" when she slips (like the 50,000 other slips that night) but certainly not an attack. And did the right thing by reaching out to the family, while also not pursuing any criminal investigations.

Can't wait until we play again this Sunday so this whole thing can go away.

I don’t know, you might give her a run for the money!  Man, I hope you never have something bad happen to you, and then people claim you are crying wolf and have ulterior motives.  I’ll take the side of the 8-year old girl and her parents versus some drunk inconsiderate fan.

Mia's father explained what led to Sunday night's incident, describing a male Bills fan as being "belligerently drunk" when he barreled past him and his son before shoving Mia to the side and causing her to slip down the stairs and fall into the lap of a 49ers fan.

"From the beginning, these folks behind us—I don't know if it was the same guy or not, I didn't pay attention—but they were, on purpose, throwing snowballs at Niner fans. They even said it out loud, 'We're going to be hitting Niner fans in the head all game,'" the elder DeCamilla recalled.

"He goes 'Well, I'm going to barrel through these Niner fans anyways.' So, he's coming up and he just starts to barrel through and push people out of the way. He kind of tried to bump into me and got past me, when he got past me, it was Mia and he pushed her in the side, which she slipped down the stairs because of the snow…and ended up hitting her rib cage on the seat."

This sounds like a believeable account, except that why would a father let a belligerent drunk push past him and have access to his medically fragile daughter?  Would you be like "hold up fella!" and get between him and your daughter?  And if you're going down stairs and your daughter is behind you and your son, wouldn't you be in a position to catch her and break her fall?  Maybe I don't "get" the geometry of the situation?

There's also a anonymous hotline in stadium that you can text or call and get said belligerent people escorted out

And it's plastered all over the video sign throughout the game

Maybe one reason the parents are so reactive about it, is that they failed to take all care they reasonably could?  Like the dad and son were considerably ahead of the daughter or something?

Could be. My gut it was not a deliberate attempt to defraud people, but the mom posted what she posted to get clicks, Glaser reposted, AB ran with it, and they had no idea how to stop the train.

Saying if they came out now and said that, it would be the real poop show and this way it just goes away. To bad it sullies an entire fan base which sucks , as I am in that stadium pretty damn well close to every game and I don’t see this kind of behavior.

My entire take from this thread: never realized that "*****" is not TSW-censored.

So....*****, *****, *****, Brady *****, hundreds of dildae, Happy ThanksDildo and Merry ***** to you all.

I'll see my way out.

Edit: holy crap, the word is censored. My bad. Carry on...

My point of disagreement with you is that I don't think she posted to get clicks.  I think she was genuinely upset and genuinely felt that her daughter had been cheap-shotted, so to speak.  I think the reference to "dealing with the police" shows that they legit felt they were done wrong.  My guess is that the police took a report, then pulled up the footage and later told the family "there's nothing out of the ordinary here"

I feel that this is the consensus among most fans.  The problem a lot of us have is that there’s inconsistency between the mom and dad’s account and the media coverage isn’t doing anything to get answers.

One report said that the family did speak to Erie County Police but that “no report was filed.”  It would have been nice for the reporter to ask why report was filed.  I tend to agree with you, and that this incident was not anything they could press charges for.

Maybe he's not one of those "on the front lines, ready to go, Oorah" Marines, and he's actually "behind the desk, with a pen, you did not fill out form 6398ghmy79sbh54 correctly so leave is denied" Marines.

There are two kinds of reporters. The type that will not run a story until they are sure they got all the facts correct, because it's their name and reputation on it, and the type we see a lot now where they'll post anything as soon as they hear it and worry about facts (and speel cheek) later.
