I know, I know, but still.  If the PFF rankings are accurate, the Bills should be 0 - 12 this year.  Josh Allen - 6th ranked QB.  Cool.

Unrelated.  I'm not knowledgeable enough to know why the Bills were getting gashed up the middle so badly.  Scheme?  DTs? Bernard?  Is that something that has to wait until the All-22's come out?  Kinda hoping Carter comes back and solidifies the middle a bit.

Bills still ran heavy Nickle, which should shock no one at this point. It is the McD modus operandi. Until the Bills have a dominate 1 tech they will always get gashed on the ground against good rushing teams, which SF is...also the snow plays a role in this. Its hard enough to read and react, aka play defense. Its even harder to do so when you dont have your footing. Go Bills!

I was laughing during the broadcast when they called out the offense and the PFF ranking for every offensive player was basically horrible, like out of the top 15. Only Spencer Brown was in the top 10 besides Allen.

We sure are doing a lot of winning for a bunch of PFF scrubs. 2nd best PPG in the league with mostly guys outside of the top 15 in every position. Seems like the rankings might just be BS.

Milano looked rusty throughout, pretty cool he got to log a bunch of snaps in a blowout though.  Ed Oliver looked pretty bad…idk if this classifies as a conspiracy theory haha but olines seem like they’re getting away with murder this year to prop up offenses.  Up until this game every time I looked at Ed he was getting held pretty bad.  Not sure if that continued in this one it was hard to tell with all the snow 🤣

I think we need to give a little bit of a pass. The game was slippery as hell out there.    I think it's hard to judge how well Matt played on this game alone.

Annual post to remind people that PFF is actually great, and the NFL uses it, but grading a player is subjective.

Grades between elite NFL games range as well. Bill Polian, one of the greatest GM’s ever, had bad grades on players who ended up great and good grades on players that ended up being terrible.

Nobody got off blocks first half against the run. 2nd half Bernard did much better and they brought Rapp down into the box more and we stiffened a little.

Our DTs were bad. Especially Ed and Phillips.

Yes.

And so was tackling once their RB’s made it past the d-line.

Hamlin must have missed half a dozen tackles himself.

Millano has a reason why he's rusty after what like almost 2 entire seasons with no or very little playing time it will take some time i'd think to be back in game shape as they say . But Ed on the other hand has only showed me that he is a decent player not the guy they thought he would be .

I would almost consider putting him up for trade bait next season if this is as good as he is . Great team guy but someone drafted as high as he was needs to be a difference maker especially in big games and they have all but shut him down . I have always wanted to see them use him on the edge in a couple plays, they say he has a great first step well apparently so does over half the rest of the NFL because he's been there but not much else .

Plus that could open up the cap to possibly get another player that would be a bigger threat inside and make the D more stout unless i'm totally missing something when it comes to Ed and that's possible .

I can see 2 picks across Day 1 & Day 2 being DL…specifically DT.

Oh yea and he has every reason to look rusty too.  A blowout win was probably exactly what he needed to get as many snaps as possible.  If it were closer I wonder if Williams would’ve been out there more

I stopped paying attention to PFF as soon as I knew CC was involved.  I did not imagine how bad some of the rankings could be until I saw Tre White ranked as one of the worst 5 CBs in the league in the intro to the NO game where he got hurt.  At that point basically no team ever tried throwing in his direction and he regularly shut everything down but he was something like 98/102.

0-12?!? 6th ranked QB?!? What the F. Ay ay ay 🤦‍♂️

Whos ahead of him. I can only think of 2 if you’re going by statistical analysis and that’s Joe Burrow and Lamar.

This game was actually validation of the bend but don't break defensive philosophy.

The Niners ran the ball effectively. Until players got bunched up in the red zone. Play 8 in the box and let CMC or one of their other runners break one for a TD or two early and the game could have taken on a different character.

Bills are tied for 6th in the NFL defensively with the Steelers giving up only 18.7 PPG while scoring almost 30 points per game offensively.  That's a recipe for winning a LOT of games.

The snow conditions - since there was no traction, the OL could just push the defenders around, and too hard to get momentum to make the tackle.

I thought Rapp played excellent,

Rapp has been pretty damn good this year. He is wayyy more versatile than I thought he would be based on his play last year.

People still wondering why they get run on at ease sometimes?

Its scheme.

Also, It’s nearly impossible to keep it up every series of downs. So the Bills believe that you’ll make a mistake at some point. Even if you don’t make a mistake as the field gets s

small the safeties start to fill faster. FGs won’t beat Josh Allen.

It’s a great system until you play a team that does stop Allen.
