I don't understand how the media can look at Allen ( even his detractors think he's top 3- 5) , see the bills point differential was way ahead of KC since 2020, see that only buffalo and KC have been to the div rd or further each year since 2020, see that buffalo has won 4 straight div titles, that Allen is 28 and in the infancy of his prime, and a team that only lost guys in the secondary that have already been hurt or not really playing since Thanksgiving of 2021... We got rid of old respected players in the secondary and a nut job wr. We then replaced the nut job wr with an awesome wr prospect in Coleman who is already more mature than diggs. And then traded for Cooper. Add in a fully healthy Von Miller and Milano .... I don't understand how someone like Emmanuel acho or Chris broussaard sees all that and says to themselves, " ummm yeah I totally trust the jets and woody Johnson"... It's just silly. I understand that the off-season has click bait stuff but can we please live in reality. It's the same thing as picking against big Ben and the Steelers or Rodgers and the Packers a while ago. Ppl are going to look at you sideways It's very similar to the bat ***** crazy stuff I heard about KC falling off in 22 which was absurd. Edited December 2 by Kelly to Allen 1 1 Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted December 2 Posted December 2 I'll keep saying it, Allen and the bills have always been a great team since 2020. They've just had some tough luck and a heartbreaking moment in KC from being world champions. If we held on for 13 seconds I'm almost positive we would be going for our second championship in the Allen era 1 Quote

Ppl are going to look at you sideways It's very similar to the bat ***** crazy stuff I heard about KC falling off in 22 which was absurd. I think that is one way of looking at where the Bills were at. But it was also legitimate, as Tirico and Collinsworth discussed on the broadcast to look at a team that lost a ton of leadership and core guys. And I don't think many of the talking heads who didn't pick us to win the division thought we were gonna be a sub .500 team. Maybe one or two did but I think the majority just thought this was a 9 or 10 win team and that might not be a division title. That shouldn't be that controversial, there were plenty of our own fans here he thought the same. Personally I always thought we would win the division and 11 wins was kind of our floor as long as Josh stayed healthy. As for the trusting Woody Johnson point, I agree on that. That was what I was saying in the post you replied to. Their bigger mistake was over valuing the Dolphins and Jets. I was always of the view the Dolphins would take a step back. Their defense is a mishmash at the moment, they lost their best defensive lineman, they lost two starters off an average at best oline and I don't believe in their coach as a leader. He can design and call an offense, but that does not a Head Coach make. I thought the Jets had potential to put it all together but I was sceptical because I know who Aaron Rodgers is. The chances of him genuinely buying in to this group and not turning it into the Rodgers show were always slim IMO. So trusting either of those teams to displace the Bills was the mistake. Neither of them had the sort of solid foundations on which success is built. And while it is true that sometimes in the NFL teams have lightening in a bottle seasons without those foundations, doesn't feel like a wise bet to make when picking division winners pre-season. 1 2 Quote
Scott7975 Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Yeah but The Jets got Rodgers AND Adams. In seriousness, I haven't seen this posted here but I've seen that the Bills have only started the season 10-2 two other times and they went to the Super Bowl both times. It may have been posted somewhere here but I haven't seen it. Quote

What an accomplishment I was too young to witness the Jim Kelly days and didn't see my first bills playoff game (that I remember) in 2017 against Jax So to me it's wild that they have won the division for the last 5 years Enjoy every minute Been around as a fan since ‘63. So have seen ups and downs. Loved the SB YEARS. Never thought I would see a qb actually match or surpass Kelly as a real leader. Those teams were filled with leaders and HOF guys. This era is basically based on Josh and his talent. He is truly generational. Inspiring guy on / off the field. Also levy was and will always be my fav coach as a gentleman and true scholar. Perfect for that area , which was before free agency. I mention that as guys usually stuck with a team throughout their careers , so chemistry carried over. Josh has improved and thrived despite changing talent around him. But Mcd and Beane I think have proven to be perfect for this era of Bills football Mcd is actually thriving and enjoying , and doing his best coaching this year. This really feels like a special year. It really feels like those SB teams because now we actually feel confident they can win and play with the best teams. Turnovers are down, and we lead the league at plus 17 I believe. We are winning with complimentary football as Mcd has preached as his process. And this team has chemistry and talent. Two biggest changes have been getting Diggs released and getting a true playmaker at Lb replacing the largely ineffective Edmund’s who never met the expectations Mcd had for him. ( watch the bears , he is still avoiding contact , rarely makes plays , and sorry , he is a soft player Tarzan off the bus, Jane on the field type. This d is for real and they are hitters out there now). We now have True building blocks at both critical positions on o and D. ). Just saying , enjoy and take in this feeling of success and truly a generational qb. I can speak from experience , this feels like the Kelly years plus . The team isn’t full of HOF players like Bruce, thurm, reed, marv , polian, tasker , bisquit, conlsn , odomes, Christy etc, but it’s loaded with even better chemistry and I really believe Mcd with Allen is our best chance to finally get that Lombardi. This is special , even those great sb teams had letdowns and so far , Mcd has guided a great season. This is the best group to finally create their own legacy outside of the SB TEAM YEARS. 5 afc east titles is great ; we just have to get past KC with Reid/ mahomes , and we might get that Lombardi finally. The other playoff teams that could be a threat are the physical Steelers and power running ravens. I think this team has the mental resilience to do it. Enjoy, it’s real , and go BILLS! 3 1 Quote

By the third loss, the nation was sick of the Bills. By the fourth loss, even some Bills fans were hoping the Bills didn't go back just to break their hearts again. It felt like someone had laid a curse on the organization. 1 Quote
chris heff Posted December 2 Posted December 2 I’ve been a Bills fan since the beginning. My father had season tickets, one of my brother’s friends was Pat McGroder III. I’ve seen some good and a lot of bad. Stayed a loyal fan through it all. Last time I felt this way was when Bills signed James Lofton, that acquisition changed the team. I think Cooper is going to have the same impact. Cooper had been with three dysfunctional organizations, he looks like he is having fun playing football for the first time since Alabama. The Bills are a dangerous team right now. This is going to be fun. Quote

I know these geniuses get paid for having an opinion, but do any of them actually do any research to support their utterings? The obvious place to start was with all the first years starters from last season in Benford, Benard, Torrence, Kincaid, Cook and Shakir. All those guys played great last season and got better as the year progressed. It seems to me it was more likely they'd build on last season, especially as the team last season went 7-2 down the stretch anchored by Josh and the kids. The team also returned 17/18 starters depending on how one views Von Miller. Since Brady became the Bills OC, the Bills are 17-4. The national guys have 32 NFL teams to talk about. They see Gabe Davis left, Diggs was traded, Poyer, Hyde & Morse gone and they quickly decide that they’re going thru a rebuild. Jets have Rodgers returning and strong defense so they must be the AFC East’s best team. Not a lot of thought behind it. Quote

Not all of them of course It's a great time to be a Bills fan but our city and our fans need a Championship! Why do we need to trust you when many of us also experienced the same thing and have a different take on it? You make it sound like your ideas and thoughts apply to everyone. Quote

They also have producers, research assistants, interns and others to help them. Truthfully a cursory look at any popular website will have all the research there for them. Simple question: between the Bills, Fish, Jets and Pat how would you rate the QBs heading into the season? 1. Allen - lead his team 7-2 down the stretch last season and put up MVP Caliber numbers 2. Tua - put up his best numbers and has speedy weapons at his disposal 3. Rodgers - aging HOF QB who play 4 snaps last season 4. Maye - NFL rookie ….. and that’s how the teams will finish in the division. Quote
