Oh theyre done. They might as well pack it in and prepare for a higher draft pick. Which is probably exactly what they need considering they'll be cleaning house on a bunch of guys and will need to pay Purdy soon.

Well Bulldog isn’t exactly a high bar to clear, he reminds the listerners on every postgame that he isn’t a “film guy”. 
 

Even Howard Simon would have a notebook and write down thoughts. 
 

Bulldog turns on the mic in his attic at 3:01 PM, lets Schopp set the table for the show, then talks when it’s his turn ala Chan Gailey and Fred Jackson..

I'm gonna put this here, though I considered "talking head says something about the Bills".

 

But as a former NFL QB and the son of an NFL QB, I do think Simms knows more than your random talking head

 

This should take you to 50 minutes, which is where they start talking about the Bills.

Simms has been quite critical of the Bills offense even when it was near the top of the league as in 2022, saying it was far too dependent upon Josh Allen to do everything (create in the passing game, pass for everything, be their best rusher).

 

He sees this Bills team as "different", able to score in multiple ways.  Interesting listen, check it out.

Thanks for this. I've appreciated some of Simms' analysis in past. But also the podcast/radio space requires a high volume of content, so it's not always A-grade analysis or terribly novel/insightful. 

 

Before I give it a genuine go, is this one presenting stuff for even alert Bills fans to chew on?

My understanding is that the Bills actually changed their cleats during the course of the game.  They weren't expecting the kind of snow they ended up having during the game, so they initially had footwear suited for less snow.  I don't know if the 49ers made any kind of equipment adjustment.  If they didn't they probably should have.

 He wanted a more aggressive defense.  See 13 secs.  That required personnel changes and schematic.  They have done both. 
 

Mcdermott wanted a run game to pair with poor environments to play in.  In a even match up having the ability to posses the ball and control the game is big.  Balance makes everything on offense easier and the job of the opposing defense much harder.  The book on the Bills offense was written in 2020.  Now the book is still open.  Answers for the defense are available but they come with a cost.  Play a light box Buffalo runs its at will.  Stop the run Allen can piece you up.  Play man, zone and the same holds true.  Mcdermott wants to win and genuinely cares about his players.  Allen the leader streamlines his message to the team.  A leadership counsel has multiple opinions. Now there is really 2 Mcdermott and Allen. 

 

  

As a first time head coach, Sean McDermott hired coordinators with loads of experience.  McDermott, I think, accepted the fact that Frazier was going to be far more vanilla in his approach to the defense.  They did at least share a preference for four down linemen and a zone heavy secondary.  However, and McDermott gained more experience and comfort in his position, I think he grew dissatisfied with vanilla on defense.  It was out of respect for Frazier that McDermott and company engineered an amicable departure for Frazier.  Babich, while he coached DBs under Frazier I think has been influenced by McDermott right along and got a full dose of his influence after Frazier left.  I think Babich is fully McDermott's man in his defensive philosophy.  Likewise, on offense, I think Brady reflect what McDermott wants to see on offense, balance and creativity.

Thank you for the regular updates/analysis on this thread & others  such as game balls etc after games.

It makes such a difference for a long time Bills fan living in Australia who often only finds out the score during a work break.  I then look forward to watching the replay.

I feel Dawson has earned the #1 TE spot right now. Not that Kincaid is playing poorly, just Knox had been playing very well last few games.

Vibe was amazing from the parking lot tailgating to getting in the stands. Everyone was having a great time!

 

Yes, there was a lot of Niners fans, not more than I’d expect. Although there were a ton of young kids decked out in Niners jerseys than I’d ever seen before.  Especially for a night game.

 

Less snow at the stadium than I thought there would be. Stands were I sit had everything cleared but the seats! Could see from our seats though other sections had a bit more snow.  But as usual, didn’t stop anyone from having enjoying the game!

He sucks now. The past year or so he would ***** on the team regularly. Said there wasn’t enough weapons, defense was just ok, yadda yadda yadda.

 

He’s picked against them many times this year too. Idk what the hell happened to him, but it’s like he took the opposite of Nick wright.

 

not that their opinions matter any more than you or mine, but it’s just nice to digest as much bills content as possible, especially after a win.

I disagree man.... Kincaid is way more skilled. Knox has always been a legitimate top 15ish te tho and is great for two te sets and depth.

This is correct. Simms has picked against buffalo like almost every game this year. He said we wouldn't even make the playoffs...

I live in the Bay Area. All week long, all the talk on sports radio has been about the 49ers are emotionally and physically drained following three deaths of family members and a gunshot wound to a teammate, plus all the injuries. They say they need to start the rebuilding process and their window has closed. Many fans are even calling for the termination of Kyle Shanahan as he is outcoached every game and can't win the big one. There is a lot of hatred for him here.

1. It was a holiday weekend (though the kids did have school Monday and a football game is not an excuse for missing school).

 

2. If they lived on the west coast, an 8:20 start means it was really only 5:20 for them.

It actually felt a little tame out in the parking lots. I think the fact that it was cold and people were probably wiped out from the holiday that the pre-game energy level just wasn't what it usually was.

Knox seems revitalized with more opportunities.

 

So watching the Raiders for the first time all year, I love how they used Brock Bowers. He was all over the place, in line, out wide, in the slot, in the backfield. 

 

I not trying to be nitpicky here, I am very happy with our offense and the Bills should not be taking pointers from the Raiders.... but Kincaid is not really a traditional tight end and I would love to see him used the way Bowers is, I think that would expand his impact. Knox is the better traditional tight end for sure, but they can both coexist and I think we are just scratching the surface of what Kincaid can do.
