I was yelling at my TV for it to happen early in the game. He was really struggling to shed blocks.

Haven't had a chance to complete watching the middle of the game.  A few early thoughts:

1) This was a "that F***IN' Guy" game for SF 49ers DC Nick Sorenson trying to deal with Josh Allen in the snow.   The TD he scored on the lateral from Cooper was complete Street Ball, two vet players just sharing a brain for a moment.  Then that TD to Mack Hollins where all 5 receivers were perfectly covered, yet the Bills still scored.  Kind of makes a DC want to smash up a tablet.

2) McCaffrey started out the game going through the Bills defense like a hot knife through butter as our DL couldn't hold their footing against the 9ers run blocking.  Give the Bills credit, that wasn't every play, they did shut some down, but the 9ers had 7 ypc in the 1st half.  McCaffrey had 7.6 ypc.  You hate to see a player get injured, but McCaffrey's injury did look like a bit of a break for the Bills.

3) Did anyone else think that the throw to Shakir on 2nd and 9 was 100% DPI?  Looked to me as though Green were draped all over Shakir well before the ball got there.  I thought the "Illegal Contact" on 3rd and 9 was somewhat of a make-up call.
4) "Hustle" award to Casey Toohill for tackling Jordan Mason downfield on his 27 yd run.  Am I the only one who had to look up 99?

5) Cole Bishop needs to learn subtlety.  Shame to have that TD on the punt return called back by holding.
6) McDermott doing snow angels next to Josh Allen is an instant classic

1) Agreed

2) Agreed, but I don't think CMC would've made much difference ultimately.  He looked a little better than Mason on the night but not a lot.  Sucks for him that he's apparently out for the year though.  Dude has had a rough go of it this season.

3) Yes, big yes!  DB didn't turn around and also directly impacted Shakir's ability to make the catch.  Textbook DPI in my opinion.  I got over it after the illegal contact on 3rd down, but I still think it was an incorrect no-call.

4) Several of our d-lineman have at least one hustle play like that this year.  It's a really good sign!

5) Yeah, I thought it was a good call, but it wasn't super far from being legal or at least "they can throw a flag for holding on every play but don't" level.  Luckily the sting of a return TD not counting is a lot less when you're blowing out the other team.

6) Yes!  Absolutely loved it.  Watched the ESPN clip this morning (that's who McD was interviewing with), and it's phenomenal.  One low-key thing I liked: Allen came over unprompted to say "coach of the year" into the mic.  McDermott haters are in shambles right now.

Thanks!  That really makes me laugh.   I saw their post game presser, Amari started nodding when Josh said he threw a bad ball so he followed it in case it popped up.  Said "so that's why you were over there!".  Said the QB normally isn't over there on a DART concept so he figured Josh wanted the ball and they made eye contact so he threw it to him.

Following up my own post to add the dots view of that TD play:

That is such a "That F'in' Guy!" play.  Josh throws to Cooper.  Bad throw, Cooper is busy securing it, meanwhile 3 'niners defenders rally to him to ensure no YAC and no chance that he muscles in for a TD.  Sound defense, well-coached defense.

Only to find that the ball is now flying towards the goal line in the hands of Josh Allen.

I'm late to this thread, and I don't know if anyone's still reading it, but...here are my thoughts.

- Fun. Fun fun fun. That game was FUN to watch. The stakes, the atmosphere, the aesthetics, the way our team played, all of it. FUN!
- It looked like the Bills players were having fun, too. As someone on Twitter said: in snow games, the team that looks like its having the most fun usually wins.

- Josh Allen. JOSH ALLEN! What can be said that hasn't already been said? Best football player on planet earth. Best Buffalo Bills player of all time. 1 of 1.

- Josh has been trailing plays and looking for the pitch for years now. He finally got one! Atta boy, Coop.
- Speaking of Coop...his steely facade is starting to crack a little bit, too. He's starting to smile. He's starting to have FUN. Reminds me of the next guy...

- James Cook! Remember when this guy never used to smile? He was ALL SMILES after the game, and rightly so. What a game from him!

- Mack Hollins. Excellent WR4. Glue guy. Character. Clutch in key moments. Career high in TD receptions this year. Fun player.

- Matt Milano seemed to only come off the field in dime formation. So much for "slowly working him back into the lineup"!
- Don't look now, but Taylor Rapp has turned into a pretty damn good safety.

- Call me crazy if you want, but for what our offense is right now, I think Dawson Knox is more effective than Dalton Kincaid.

- 30+ points in six straight games, seven straight wins, five straight division titles, undefeated after the bye week under McDermott. Nice numbers, these.

- McDermott's post-game locker room speech was beautiful. I loved it. Remember these moments. Soak them up. The years go by so fast...

- Allen and McDermott making snow angels is a moment I'll always remember. Awesome stuff. How can you not love this team and these players?

After seeing the Dolphins, Jets, Patriots, and Ravens lose, the Bills proceeded to dominate their opponent on national TV, in the snow, stay healthy doing so, and clinch the division. And I have to admit: even though all this was happening, I was -- on a petty level -- irritated that the snow game meant Josh likely wouldn't have the opportunity to add to his case for MVP. BOY WAS I WRONG! 4 TDs -- including the play of the year in the NFL. THAT's how you storm into first place in the MVP race.

Fun, memorable, awesome game. Loved every minute of it. And like McDermott said: remember these moments. Treasure them. The years go by so fast.

Go Bills!

Go Bills!

A looser McDermott has been nice to see this year.

I noticed him starting to change when the Bills clinched the division last season in Miami. You saw him show emotion, become less robotic, and that has continued this season.

He definitely is not as uptight, and shows more joy than he used to.

I think it happened after the Dunne piece to be honest. Blessing in disguise.

Agreed.

Josh said in the pre-game show on NBC last night that he's been trying to get Sean to loosen up this year. That he pranks him, cracks jokes to him, etc.

I think their relationship is in a good place right now, and that they're good for each other. Josh is getting coach to loosen up (which he needs). Coach is challenging Josh to be the leader the Bills need and to be (I know it's corny) "the best version of himself".

I don't know that their relationship has always been in as good a place as this. But this year -- with all they've been through together, with where the team is at right now -- things are clicking. They're complementing each other well.

Every week I yell at my TV about Dawson Knox getting so many snaps and every week he's been making some clutch plays. Also, he is undoubtedly a better blocker than Kincaid.   You may be on to something here..

Knox has made a lot of big plays over the years in big games for this team.

And it's based on mutual respect - not being 'buddies'.  McD is maintaning a hard edge respect from players while evolving to loosen up a bit and let them be themselves and have some fun

did anyone see george kittle out there?....I spaced him off but i thought we would be a big factor and i dont

even remember him in the game.

Kittle's a pretty lean guy, and he looked downright bloated out there. I strongly suspect he was wearing a neoprene suit under his uni (I know the 49ers brought them), and that's gotta slow a guy down.

Been watching the OL Xtra Anderson. Interesting example of Bills O doing something different from NFL

Brady runs that jumbo package a lot, including last year. Last year it was Edwards #76.

What the hell are Chiefs fans doing worrying about anything? They're a Dynasty. They've got a horseshoe rammed up their ass. The league gargles their nuts.

My god. They must have run out of Busch Lite and Crystal Meth or something, it's the only explanation. Maybe Jaxon Mahomes cancelled their favorite strip club?

I agree... and why do we even care what they say... its like living rent free in our heads... sorry, not reading or caring about Chiefs message boards or their fans thoughts... beat the Rams... then look at the Lions... head down... go.

Back in September, you could understand pundits talking up the Jets-- they addressed their O-line in the offseason, maintained their defense, and looked pretty good on paper. But, the hype surrounding the Dolphins, who did nothing to address their porous O-line, and let some of their best players on defense walk out the door, made zero sense. If anything, they've outperformed what should have been the expectations for that team.
