BillsPride12 Posted Saturday at 03:46 PM Posted Saturday at 03:46 PM Since we've already done most annoying thought it would be fun to do the ones you actually love Elvis- Blue Christmas is probably the first one that comes to mind for me. It's nice too because it doesn't get overplayed like some of the others Quote
ChevyVanMiller Posted Saturday at 04:30 PM Posted Saturday at 04:30 PM (edited) There's not many that I don't love, but even though it's melancholy, Joni Mitchell's "River" is pure genius. Edited Saturday at 04:31 PM by ChevyVanMiller 1 2 Quote

Goin Breakdown Posted Saturday at 05:05 PM Posted Saturday at 05:05 PM Ohh holy night. The melody is awesome and it's one of those songs that gives you chills when a real good vocalist sings it. Jewels version was always a favorite of mine but I've heard many and it really never dissapoints. Quote

I couldn’t personally pick a single song, but Oh Holy Night was the favorite for a guy who used to work for me. Every single time I hear that song I think of Laurence. EVERY single time. Great song, great season, and this is a great thread to get into the holiday spirit. 1 Quote
Another Fan Posted Saturday at 06:08 PM Posted Saturday at 06:08 PM It’s not my favorite genre of music but there’s usually a lesser known Christmas song of the season that hits home for me. This one did it last year Quote
Steve O Posted Saturday at 06:50 PM Posted Saturday at 06:50 PM (edited) A lot of people like the Bing Crosby/David Bowie rendition of Little Drummer Boy. I prefer The West Wing rendition, performed by the Antrim Mennonite Choir. If you listen you might want to have some Kleenex close by. Edited Saturday at 06:52 PM by Steve O 1 Quote

DrW Posted Saturday at 10:46 PM Posted Saturday at 10:46 PM (edited) Chuck Berry essentially had one - very successful - guitar riff. He just had to exchange the lyrics for each song. Run Rudolph Run is the Christmas version. And here is Lynyrd Skynyrd's version... Edited Saturday at 11:42 PM by DrW 1 Quote

Thats one of the cool things about music. One of the many cool things. It makes you think about things. People, times of the years, memories and so on. Great thread indeed. 1 Quote
DrW Posted Saturday at 11:51 PM Posted Saturday at 11:51 PM (edited) And here is the masterpiece: Japanese all-female Shonen Knife with "Sweet Christmas" Well, I just discovered that Shonen Knife had another Christmas song, "Space Christmas". I like the idea to have bison pull Santa's sleigh. Edited Sunday at 12:32 AM by DrW Quote
Ned Flanders Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Any song NOT sung by Mariah Carey...I'd rather hear Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer on a continuous loop in hell before I'd listen to her. 1 Quote
Sweats Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago In the 70's, the whole rage was the Boney M Christmas record with all that funky disco yule tide cheer going on, but when my wife and i bought our first house in the late 80's, we bought the Nat King Cole Christmas CD and surprisingly we still bring it out once in a while when we have family at the house for the holidays........it is just some good, honest, laidback, mellow melodies that warms the soul. 1 Quote
