I really don’t remember the Pats having a lot of luck like this winning games for them. The tuck rule game is the only obvious one I can think of.

I guess the Falcons deciding to choke the Super Bowl away was kind of lucky, but that wasn’t a single play it was like 60 plays.

Those Pats teams were much better coached and filled w young hungry players. Night vs day IMO. They killed special teams and had a very simple system.

LOL, the Chiefs never win games because of special teams…

It just doesn't matter who they play. Every game will be a one score affair down to the wire and they're really good and being on the right side of those situations. If you're looking for style points to declare why they won't be a postseason threat you're mistaken. That's not who they're at this point and really wasn't last year either.

Except the Bills, who beat them by multiple scores.

Apparently the Chiefs have already won the remaining five games of the season and breezed through the playoffs to win their 3rd consecutive Lombardi.

There is luck involved. But sooner or later it will even out. Last year maybe they had bad luck regular season but reversed in the playoff.

Also chiefs are fundamentally sound, meaning not making stupid mistakes like raiders. And that will change when they meet other teams who are also at the same level.

Let’s move on. The main lesson is that you have to be fundamentally sound yourself, especially when playing  against them. I read McDermott had the teams working on fundamentals after self scouting following the bye. That’s all I care about.

The Chiefs make plenty of mistakes, including turning over the ball a lot. They get plenty of penalties. I don't think they are some bastion of fundamentals the rest of the NFL looks to. They have an elite defense, a really good QB, and a really good head coach. That has always been a recipe for staying in most games.

The key to beating KC is you have to be up 2 scores at the 2 minute warning so the refs can’t take the game from you without it being 100% obvious. That’s a tall task, because the refs are going to try and keep it a one score game (unless KC is ahead) so they can affect the outcome at the end. No team has been the recipient of more game changing BS calls than the Pats*, but KC is a very close second. Mahomes has the most interceptions overturned by defensive penalties in the history of the NFL. That’s by design. So you just have to accept that the Chiefs are going to get the majority of the game changing calls, and plan to overcome that by steam rolling them. It’s easier said than done, but Buffalo has done it multiple times, we just need to do it in the playoffs if we meet up with them.

I give the Chiefs plenty of credit all the time, but anyone pointing to this win and a handful of other EXTREMELY fluky wins and claiming that it is some brilliance by their part are just blowing smoke or are just too enamored with their success to see things clearly.

And there he is making the False Start signal. If you want to say that the penalty was a shift after the fact, fine, but you blew the whistle. How on Earth do you let a "mistake" (I use that term loosely because it seems far more plausible a fix was in) and expect people to believe the refs can be trusted?

It’s all moot. Carlson would have missed the FG anyway.

Yeah, that is a given. I was saying that right before the debacle as well.

The officials at the end were pathetic, they blew the play dead and then let the play count. I doubt the Raiders hit the FG but that was unacceptable and also why people think the game is rigged. That level of incompetence should cost them their jobs

Guess why this is a screenshot and not a video.  It’s because there was no whistle, and the refs got it correct.

Or we should just expect a competitive game?

Because Josh scored that late touchdown? Sure. It still required exactly what I said  needed to happen no?

Bet you said this stuff about the Patriots as well.

You can’t hear a whistle, but the line judge is very visible on the video running into the play and signaling false start.

I’m not sure what the rule is on signaling a penalty without a whistle. It’s all moot anyway, because that guy was going to miss the FG anyway.

Feels like we'll have to beat the Lions, and just in general run the table.

I can see KC losing 1 more.  The way their season is going, losing 2 would be a tall order.

KC have become the Pats from 10 years ago. They are obviously good team but incredibly lucky. But their main strength, just like the Pats of old is just being patient for the teams they play to just implode with either moronic coaching decisions or shoot themselves in the foot with inexplicably terrible play. Today was an example of the latter.

Raiders should be looking for a new coach by the time the boarded the plane that coaching decision was inexcusable almost as bad as the Chicago call.

Cool.  Just show me a video clip with sound.  (I’ve watched it 50 times.  No whistle was blown.)

Had to work today so I didn't get to see the game but the Raiders getting 13.5 points going against this Chiefs team was easyyyy $$$.  Easiest no sweat bet of the season for me.

Each passing week that goes by the more confident I am the Chiefs don't make it out of their first playoff game this year

Negating the play was blown dead/play wasn't blown dead debate for a second. Where was the false start or the illegal shift? I have not seen any replays showing either. I only see a snap when the QB wasn't expecting it - which is not a penalty.
