Raiders were covering that game no matter what. +13 was an absolute steal the play KC has been playing.

I lost a hundy, LOL.

Looked like their receivers were not set…I think the illegal shift was technically right but if that dude ran in blowin his whistle for a false start idk how you can change the call to illegal shift

Even if the receivers weren’t set, that sort of chaotic play is always called a false start. I can’t think of an illegal snap like that being called an illegal shift.

even then, It seemed like a nonsense make-up call to maybe make up for the ref potentially incorrectly blowing the whistle on the play.

Yep They are literally the modern day Patriots.

Best QB/Coach, multiple rings under their belt, find ways to win, get breaks from the other teams/refs. The parallels are insane

Better IMO. The Pats went 10 years without a Super Bowl win during their run. The Chiefs won't go that long. This year I think we have a better chance to beat them than we will again for a long time. Hopefully we capitalize on it.

Meh the Ravens and 49ers had more talent than them last year. It doesn't matter.

FWIW I believe the Bills can beat them in the playoffs this year. In fact I believe we're the only team that can, in either conference. We've shown the right DNA this year to meet them at their level in those critical moments at the end where the Chiefs usually beat everybody.

The Chiefs were better last year. Doesn't matter that their record is better this year. Their point differential was much better, their offense was much better, and their defense was similar. It isn't the same this year. I don't think they will escape the Divisional this year. Ravens and Bills are playing better. A team like the Steelers or Texans could knock them off for sure (we'll see soon they play both of those teams in the next month).

The Chiefs continue to be the luckiest team ever. It is super annoying.

There is luck involved. But sooner or later it will even out. Last year maybe they had bad luck regular season but reversed in the playoff.

Also chiefs are fundamentally sound, meaning not making stupid mistakes like raiders. And that will change when they meet other teams who are also at the same level.

Let’s move on. The main lesson is that you have to be fundamentally sound yourself, especially when playing  against them. I read McDermott had the teams working on fundamentals after self scouting following the bye. That’s all I care about.

I strongly believe the Chiefs will lose 2 more games this year. It's up to the Bills to only lose 1 more game. The difference between now and earlier in the season is that their defense is fading. The Raiders have the #28 offense, and the Panthers have the #31 offense. They gave up ~140 yards more than the Raiders season average today, and relied on 3 missed FGs (really 4 if you count that last abomination). Their defense has been totally mediocre the past 3 weeks. If that is a trend and not just a temporary dip, then they are in trouble against better teams.

Also, one of the missed FG’s was immediately after a self inflicted 15 yard sack.  KC got pressure but O’Connell did not have to take that much of a loss.

Oh man. Don’t bet with your heart. Anytime KC lays double digits take the dog. 2 weeks in a row of easy money.

Just like with Brady, we had to wait 20 years for him to leave the division/conference.  And then he still won a superbowl.

If that exact same game was played between the Raiders and Jaguars, the conclusion would not be that the Jaguars are simply fundamentally sound.

I was sure that Andy was going to stomp on the Raiders.  The locker room could really use a bloodletting.  Typically I’m a pretty successful gambler.  This year is doing it’s level best to break me.

I don’t understand that part of the argument though…there’s a whole lot more going on contextually that didn’t happen to them last year and you’re saying they’ll do the same thing in the playoffs as last year

Having to shell out for Jones and let Sneed walk has had huge ripple effects on the db depth and the offensive tackle they drafted to shore up that position is looking like a bust, they lost two big time wrs to injury, and so on.  This is not the same chiefs team as even last year.  I mean I get the ‘mahomes can will them to victory in the playoffs’ argument in theory but he has so much to overcome this year I just don’t see it happening.  They really do look like paper tigers to me this year much like that Steelers team did

Great.

If they get bounced in the divisional round it will be fantastic.  If they are as bad as what I am reading here they should lose at home in the divisional round by 7 ore more.

My question I guess is which team is going to do that to them exactly?  As we sit today a bills chiefs divisional round matchup is highly unlikely.  I will agree on this, if baltimore played KC next week I would think Baltimore wins the game for sure.  Just like I did in january.

lets say the chiefs get the 1 and the bills get the 2, Ravens 3 and houston 4.

then lets say Pittsburgh, Denver and LA go 5, 6, 7.

Then lets say Bills over Chargers in a tight game, Baltimore over Denver in a tight game and Pittsbugh over houston in a tight game.

Are the steelers and their anemic offense going to KC and winning in the divisional round?

or say houston wins, is houston going to KC in the divisional round and winning with their pass protection issues?  They can play excellent defense like pittsburgh but can they make the clutch timely plays at KC to win?

What you guys are telling me is that KC is going to lose at home to one of these other flawed teams.

This is why the 1 seed is so important to buffalo, IMO, avoiding Baltimore in round 2 and playing the Chiefs at home if they both get to the championship game.

Until I see different the only teams I see as able to stand in there and beat the chiefs at KC is Buffalo and Baltimore and the addendum to that is Lamar Jackson is 1-4 vs KC and that one win is a week 1 to start the 2021 season.

anyway.  We all hope the chiefs lose and the bills get the 1 seed.

Record is all that matters. The rest is fluff for talking heads. Everyone said the Bills would be worse off this year because they let talented players go. Turns out we have our best record in decades instead. Football is about much more than talent. The more the Chiefs win one score games, the better they become at doing so. It's the ultimate superpower in a league that is mostly about winning one score games. This year they've finally perfected the art. They let the game come to them, make sure it's a one score game near the end, and from there it's a guaranteed win. A top WR and top LT combined isn't worth as much as that superpower when it comes to the win column.

That was on the Raiders. Refs got the call correct

Actually they didn't.  Flags went up and whistles blown.  Ball was not recovered at that time.  And illegal shift does not stop the play, which the refs were doing.  Only an offensive false start stops the play.

I thought it would be ages before another team was hated as much as the Patriots.

The Chiefs have officially surpassed them, imo. This season sealed the deal.  Kudos to them for winning a bunch of games they probably should have lost - but it really stokes the disdain.

Tom Brady’s playoff fumble against raiders was a lucky play. But after that, I don’t remember any big luck they got to went on to superbowl. You may say Brady missing a year was a payback for their luck.

That's fair. Do you think they will get 6 rings though? (3 more)

I think pit would be a real problem for them…I guess we’ll see shortly lol. They would be praying Houston sneaks out of a hypothetical pit vs Houston matchup imo.

The problem is the same game would NOT be played between Raiders and Jaguars because Jaguars are NOT the Chiefs! Just like if you starts with “if the same game played between the Bills and Chiefs..” everyone will jump on you and say the Bills are NOT the Raiders, and they are 100% correct.
