I realized while watching the game last night that I don't even hate the Dolphins anymore.

Honestly I feel pity for them because it's always the same thing...they play a good team, play in cold weather, play a prime time game and they get their doors blown off. Essentially, anytime the conditions aren't good and they are playing anything more than a mediocre team, they don't usually even look competitive.

They have ruined the rivalry and I am actually angry at them for that.

They are like your little brother that you know you will always win against when you play them.

I mean, sure, every once in while they hit a lucky shot to win at the last second but most of the time the games aren't close and the result is already known.

It just feels so weird after all this time to feel nothing for a team you grew up hating and have done so for 40 years...

I hope they renew the rivalry at some point, because at this point it's dead.

My hate has just transformed into a sort of joyous schadenfreude.

If they want to keep giving WRs and CBs millions of dollars while gutting their lines, I'll just sit back and gleefully munch on my popcorn.

I’ve told this story before: My outlook completely changed when I spent about half an hour chatting with Don Shula in an airport a few years back. What shocked me was that he didn’t talk about their infamous decade long streak of domination. On the contrary, what he remembered was how the Bills had their number in the ‘90s. It taught me a valuable life lesson: losing sticks with you way longer than winning does.

Nope. I didn't live through the 70s killing but it reminded me of the Patriots domination with Brady and feels great that we the one killing the division again like we did in the early 90s which I did live through.

My hatred for the Dolphins is stoked by the fact that every year they are drenched in adulation from the national media, and every year it turns out the same way.  I’ll also never forget that 100 degree game a couple years ago, where they stuck us in the sun all afternoon.

I was stationed at Homestead AFB when the Miami "streak" was over in 1980.

I remember the picture of the goalposts being torn down at Rich Stadium on the front page of the Miami Herald.

The headline simply read:  "IT'S OVER!".

It was beautiful.  I love every win since.

All 3 of the teams in the division are kind of like that right now. The Jets sniped us a couple of times but have not really been a threat, the Dolphins are an average team that gets a lot of hype because they have a lot of flash and exciting names. The Patriots actually to me are going to be our next true rival. Maye looks like hes capable of being a good QB in the league and Mayo is the type of guy that seems like he has a plan running off guys who don't fit what he wants to do. They obviously have to get more pieces but I think they'll be the team to compete with us in like two to 3 years.

I got to make something clear. I will always hate Miami. It started with this dude named Cox giving us the 2 middle fingers and their fan base is just stupid.  Even to this day, half their fans feel Tua is an Elite QB.  I can never stop hating on Miami.

ALLLLL of this being said... I am a Bills fan first and an NFL fan second. There are a few teams I dislike.  I go on Miami and Jets podcasts a ton. Its just fun knowing the other side.

but yea.. that hate will never leave for me.

God that'd be ***** annoying that organization needs to go through many more QBs and HCs before they're even remotely competent again. Though as much as I'd think I'd rather the Dolphins or Jets be competent instead of them I get the weird feeling like the Pat fans have been less annoying than them somehow, but maybe I'm just losing my ***** mind.
