sullim4 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The Bears are just completely irrelevant to me as a football fan. For being in such a large market, and having the history that the franchise has... it's odd. They're in that bucket of NFC teams that I just couldn't give a rat's behind about like the Cardinals, Falcons, and the Bucs. They made that Super Bowl with Lovie but other than that, they haven't been relevant since the 1980s. Meanwhile the Packers, a similarly historic franchise from a much smaller market, have completely whipped their behind for years. I know we like to complain about Ralph and the drought, but the Bears have truly been dreadfully run the past 35 years or so. I mean how does Eberflus go out there for a press conference the morning after the game, and then get fired shortly thereafter? He deserved to get let go, but my goodness, how bush league is that? Can you imagine what he could do with Allen? Not a whole lot different than Brady most likely. We are 16-4 including playoffs since he took over. That also includes the game @Philly with horrendous reffing and multiple botched TDs plus the KC playoff game where we had a decimated LB/DB crew, the offense had the stuff. Quote

Offside Number 76 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 1 hour ago, mannc said: Supposedly, Williams checked out of the play call, which caused the delay… Williams got the play call late because the coaching staff didn't have one ready, then, by the time they lined up, the headset was shut off so he couldn't communicate with the staff. He did audible and change the play because he didn't like the over-the-middle routes that were called with time expiring. Had the staff gotten the play to him promptly, there would have been no problem. Had the staff called a better play, no problem. But letting 15 seconds evaporate before sending in a bad play was the error, and on the staff not Williams. 1 minute ago, co_springs_billsfan said: What do we need to do to get this guy hired by the Jets? Probably not a whole lot, frankly. It seems like destiny. 1 Quote

FLFan Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago He was going to get fired at the end of the season anyway. This does not matter much either way, but it is well deserved. 2 Quote

Sojourner Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago When my brother in-law, who isn’t even a casual football fan, looked at all of us (my father in-law, son and soon to be brother in-law) confused and concerned about the end of the Lions/Bears game it had to be a move Chicago made. Confusing complete novices to the sport about game/clock management is bottom of the barrel coaching. 1 Quote

Golden*Wheels Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm sitting there with my nephew watching the end of this game and in dead synchronicity we both said "what the &^$% is he doing???" and just like that I'm not allowed at the kids' table any more. Thanks a lot Eberflus! 1 Quote

SinceThe70s Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Has anyone mentioned the timeout the Bears took with 43 seconds left and the clock already stopped after an incompletion? I thought that was nearly as inexcusable. 1 Quote

benderbender Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The Bears deserve it for passing on Leslie Frazier. If they wanted a defensive head coach, they could have had one with not just more defensive coordinator experience, but actual head coaching experience. Plus they blew the perfect chance to welcome home a former player from the 85 championship team. Instant cred. Quote
