I said when the Giants cut Daniel Jones that I'd take Daniel Jones over Caleb Williams any day of the week and I stand by that. I dont watch the Bears and think Caleb is the problem. He will extend plays which runs him into some sacks. Like what young Allen did. Having terrible tackle play and refusing to help with formation or extra blockers is a problem. I take over the bears im trading Moore for what ever I can. Hate his body language and antics. Investing everything in the oline. Draft capital and FA. Look for an OC with a deep run game bag. Try to take as much off Calebs plate as possible. They have weapons gotta create space with pa. Very much Dorsey with Allen right now. Caleb isnt Allen. Quote

Stunning lack of awareness from him to waste time on an audible and then go for a very low % deep ball. They snapped it with 6 seconds left - that's enough time for a quick completion and timeout to lineup for a closer FG. Or you just throw it away and let your kicker try the 59 yarder. That being said, Eberflus is a terrible head coach and his firing was long overdue. He never should've been HC to start this season. Quote

It sounds like Williams did not know they had a TO so he dialed up a deep ball, thinking they had to score on that play…none of it makes much sense. Williams has a lot of talent but he needs a coach who’s going to hold him accountable and start all over with him, if necessary. Quote

Edelweiss On a serious note SoCal, there is talent on the Bears, and the team has been miscoached and managed. They need a McBeane type tandem to start seriously building a team. Quote

Can you imagine what he could do with Allen? The Lions are averaging about 3 points more than us per game, question is who is he bringing to coach the defense? Change for change sake alone doesn't mean things will get better as we learned from moving the defense away from Schwartz to Ryan. 1 1 Quote

Even with two more wins, he is 99% safe. Quote
gonzo1105 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I mean you had to after that debacle. I mean you have to almost think he did it on purpose with how bad it was but I watched the replay of him and he was engaged trying to get everyone ready to go. Was standing next to the ref the whole time but it didn't look like he even thought about calling a TO. Quote

stuvian Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago only surprise is Eberflus being fired before Pederson. That said, the day is young. This is an attractive job with a decent roster. They need a QB guru or the whole front office is toast this time next year Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I still say it was the righteous indignation shown by hosts and callers on the Chicago radio postgame show that did it. 😁 Quote
Captain Hindsight Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 1 hour ago, Chicken Boo said: A possible fit for Ben Johnson. There's a lot to work with in Chicago. The fact the bears gave Eberflus, who was already failing as a HC, the number one overall pick for 75% of a season is unbelievable. He was bad last year and they were like “here, here’s a Ferrari. Good luck” Caleb might not be good, but the bears have already set his development back by now having him with his 3rd playcalled before year 2. Insane 2 1 Quote
BADOLBILZ Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 36 minutes ago, vincec said: The press conference is what got him fired so unceremoniously. You can’t seriously go up there after that fiasco and claim you did the right thing. The abject obstinance sorta' harkened back to the era of the regrettably no-account Wade Phillips and his headset and the atrocious mullet sporting special teams coach he jumped on his sword for. When you are THAT wrong just own it, adapt and live to fight another day. Quote
LABILLBACKER Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 1 hour ago, frostbitmic said: It was horrible clock management on Eberflus' part but the QB has to have some awareness of the clock as well. I'd assume he's been playing the game for a few years. Both HC & QB froze badly. They had something like 27 seconds when the previous play ended. Quote
wjag Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Why who could have seen that coming? Everyone on the planet, not a Lions fan, was calling for a timeout. Quote
NoHuddleKelly12 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 1 hour ago, MJS said: That was an epic failure yesterday. Anyone involved deserves major criticism, especially the coach. Given everything else that has gone on, it would be criminal not to fire him. Maybe worse was his not owning it, instead deciding to double down on what was a hot mess ending and claiming that he really liked what he saw and that it was like they drew it up basically?! A real head scratcher. Quote
