Here to admit I was wrong. Don’t get it, but hey, the US wants all republicans in charge, so I’m gonna go with it.

Let’s document what they accomplish.

It's sad but I think I get it.  It's the economy.  Spending time with younger family who voted D but explained wages versus inflation to me. They're fine but have friends who aren't.  Thing is, the people hoping this election will better their fortunes were terribly mislead.  Tariffs will hurt them most.  Tax breaks will help them least.  At least we're not in civil war.  Agreement around the table that was more likely with a D win.  Thankful for that.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Yeah, must have been the economy. Nothing else. Nope. Can’t think of anything.

I'll help you out a bit, it's not only the economy, it's the highest inflation in history, housing prices through the roof, groceries prices up, open borders allowing illegals in at historic levels, undoing certain bills put in place that helped only to later find out that changing them made things worse, , not to continue drilling for oil & then opening up the national surplus of oil to bring down higher prices of fuel, and many more things such as these over a 4 year period to prove incompetence in leadership .

But at least were not in a civil war there is that !! Your right it was pretty sad but MAYBE things will get better now . As the OP says lets keep a eye on things to hopefully get better ... Time will tell .

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving too !!!

I do think the average person voted on things like:

1. The economy

2. Problems with mass immigration

3. Woke/transgender ideology (for me those issues are important in a practical sense with regard to women's sports and women's safety in the restroom, which are two issues glibly brushed off by liberals as being unimportant)

However I don't think the financial system as currently structured will be viable going forward. Trump isn't going to 'fix' 50+ years of financial misfeasance by both political parties. I'm dating the start of the problem as 1971 when Richard Nixon took us off the gold standard. Others would argue it dates back to 1913 and the establishment of the Federal Reserve, and that's also a good argument. But for the modern era I prefer to go with Nixon.

We've had quite a few pre-emptive jolts since then: 1987 crash/savings and loan crisis; early 2000s dotcom crash, 2008 financial crisis, and right now I'd argue we teeter on the precipice if the whole thing imploding. Bailing out GM and the banks was never a good idea, it just kicked the can down the road. Now here we are at the end of it.

Can Trump fix it? I think he's working with Musk to put a new system in place, but it's going to be a tough few years while the details get ironed out. Could Kamala have fixed it? hahahahaha. She couldn't even think of anything she'd "do differently."

I mean, when you liberals vote, what are you voting FOR?

More crappy inflationary economy? More mass illegal immigration? More trans stuff in the schools? More billions sent to Ukraine?

The idea of a "first black Indian woman president?"

I really don't get the liberal mindset.

Why would you expect Republicans/independents to vote for her in 2024 when Democrats didn't vote for her in 2020, and she was the first to drop out of the Democratic primaries? Where was the groundswell of enthusiasm for Kamala except in the news media?

Thought you had graduated to the bargaining stage but it looks like you have backslid into anger. Don’t forget - depression still lies ahead. Hang in there buddy!!

And if i'm wrong then it's because the news told me the wrong thing ABC, NBC, CBS,and the rest so that just goes to prove all the BS you were pushing about the orange man was nothing but total BS too .

So in this case we'll just take your word for it seeing as you are the all knowing !! Thanks .

To their own detrement the Democrats mis-repreesented the immigration issue. In most situations saying anyone opposing the open border policy is anti-immigrant. That's simply not true. What people rejected was chaos. That and disgust with the administration's prioritization of migrant needs with comtempt for Americans in need. Many that were thrown into the streets to make room for housing migrants in shelters and 4 star hotels. And told sorry, we have no funds to help you because we spent it all on illegal foreigners. Even giving spending money. And ignoring crime and other social issues the influx caused. Totally tone deaf policy but that is the far left on almost everything.

And a mention of sanctuary cities. Some mayor's have chosen this hill to die on. If they inhibit ICE deportations I hope they throw their asses in jail for obstruction and freeze their assets and accounts for supporting terrorist foreign street gangs. Time for some hardball.

Then it should be trivial for you to produce an article stating that and post it.

That and like, how she became the nominee.

Libs were so distraught over Biden that how he was replaced and how it went down meant absolutely nothing to them.

The biggest stories of the year in order:

1. Biden isn’t running announced on X

2. The end of legacy media

3. Trump nearly assassinated - twice.
4. Trump wins the election

5. Party realignment in real time

So my belief is libs absolutely do not care the circumstances of Biden “he’s sharp as ever” stepping down.

Them and their now deceased media immediately turned to “Harris can win this thing.  Joy!  Look at that joy!”

Which shows they are just tyrannical thugs that only care about power, control, and killing babies.  Sorry, but it’s the truth - legit every freaking ad was about abortion.

So much for that.  Manhattan DC Bubble.

true except for 2 and 5.  Legacy media isn't going anywhere.  They may hire some more conservatives as hosts but the networks are all here for the foreseeable future. Same with CNN.  MSNBC may be toast.  NPR and PBS will survive...through donations from people like me.

Re #5, the realignment was completed long ago.  This has been the trump party for the last 8 years..  There's no obvious D leader but when we choose one, it won't be a demagogue.

True but they are marginalized if not completely irrelevant. As per assorted surveys, faith in legacy media is nonexistent. They did everything they could to elect their candidate and failed miserably. Maybe they should report the news instead of trying to create it.
