I hope you are so fortunate. Thank you! I have a nice neighbor she has pneumonia recently so she gave me like 15 bottles of electrolyte gatorade and a turkey day plate with orders to hydrate, try to eat and go to the Dr tomorrow if I don't feel better. That was really nice 1 Quote

Really not trying to get this moved to PPP, just wondering if either of you had the flu vaccine? Quote

My wife usually gets the vaccine, and she’s the one who usually gets sick. I had something similar twice, and it just lasted a day. I was sweating like I was playing midday tennis in Florida in August, and I was too weak to lift my head. I couldn’t get out of bed until about 4pm, and it only lasted an hour. It was crazy, but it passed quickly. The next day you just need to get your strength back. 1 Quote

I did earlier this Fall, and a few weeks ago I came down with something, that while not as bad as TBBF describes in their post, was still what I can only describe as a very bad cold, that lasted about two weeks. I was still able to work but was popping drugs multiple times a day to keep going. I did take an at home Covid test, which came up as negative, since it first started as a sore throat and that's how Covid started for me the two times I did have it. One person thought I might have the flu, but I never got an official diagnosis. Edited November 29 by Just Jack 1 Quote
US Egg Posted November 29 Posted November 29 I did as advised as few years ago and also started getting flu shots. Things are different now regarding flu and colds, not for the better. 1 Quote

Wacka Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Since I started getting flu shots several decades ago, haven't got real sick from the flu. Was leery of the CPVID shot but since I had the kidney transplant in Feb I am getting all the vaccines now . Got the flu and COVID shot about 2-3 weeks ago. Arm was only sore for about 8 hours. Will get the RSV before Christmas. Got the shingles shots in Summer 2023 2 Quote

In fact, because of the long recovery, I played a miserable game in a playoff loss in my rec bball league. Since then, I have been getting the flu shot. I think it really helps with minimizing symptoms and speeding up recovery when you get the flu. 4 Quote

Since get lengthy colds that result in visits to ENT. I don’t know…. Quote
TBBills Fan Posted December 3 Author Posted December 3 I think I'm on the back 9 of this bug. No more chills but the cough is still nasty Quote

I get the covid shots- I don't want that *****, but she gets the flu shot too... and every time she gets the shot she feels like she has the actual flu for 3 days, then gets sick later anyway. I skate through and almost never get any of it- life's just not fair hahahaha Quote
Wacka Posted December 3 Posted December 3 (edited) Probablyust her metabibolism. I am immunocompromised because of the kidney transplant but I got the flu and COVID shots 3 weeks ago. Arm wasn't even that sore as it was in the past. Checked with the transplant clinic to OK it. They said since I am post 6 months (at 10 months next week) I can get the shots as long as they are not live vaccines (they are not). Will be getting the RSV one just before Christmas. Got the shingles shot and pneumonia shot in Summer of '23. Edited December 3 by Wacka 1 Quote
TBBills Fan Posted December 5 Author Posted December 5 I think I beat this bug. If anyone wants me to satisfy their wife, I am no longer contagious and can resume duty. If you need me to help, DM is okay for your privacy as always 1 Quote
BritBill Posted December 5 Posted December 5 I’ve been having a flu vaccination every autumn now for a few years since my father got the big C. I didn’t want to impact his immune system. I just continued with it after his death. My work plays for it so I just continue to get it once a year. It’s worked so far (touch wood). Quote
