I thought for much of the game the Fish's offensive scheme looked very similar to the one they ran last season, that got fully exposed by midseason, '23. At one point, Jason Garret was analyzing a replay, and commented on Tua at the snap, "eyes come up, ball goes out." He actually meant it in complimentary fashion, but for much of the game, it didn't look like Tua was reading the field at all. I will say that Tua has gotten much better at playing off script, but the play-calling wasn't letting him do it. There were more than a few plays where Waddle, or Hill were open, but the timing didn't allow for it. I don't think Tua does a lot of adjustment at the LOS.

I'll say this also-- The Packer's D played a clean game. In their (was it five?) sacks, the hits were textbook clean, being careful not to land with their full weight, and in the few times Tua ran, they looked like they were being careful not to clobber him. I don't pay a lot of attention to GB, but they strike me as a classy team with a decent culture.

One thing that stood out to me was Miami has no short yardage game.   They're afraid to use Tua in a sneak and their rbs are all speed guys, no power short yardage game at all.

He didn't abandon teammates. He was demoted to running the scout team. What would Brady have done if demoted to 3rd string?

Demoted to playing safety on the scout team.  WTF

The flood of tears that would have ensued if that happened to Brady would likely have resulted in a global hydrological disaster.

Denver and Miami can both finish 10-7. (Chargers I think get 10-11 wins)

If Miami does run the table, I think it's very possible one team with 10 wins doesn't make it

There are three wild cards available.  Right now the Chargers, Broncos and whoever finishes second in the AFCN have the inside track.  But there are still a ton of games left and literally millions of scenarios.  (Last year the Bills were 6-6 at this point.)  I’m not convinced that both the Broncos and Chargers will get to 10 wins.  It’s even possible that the second place AFCN team ends up with less than 10 wins because their schedules are BRUTAL.  If Miami runs the table (unlikely but possible) I can’t see them not getting in, and who knows what the tiebreakers look like.  Unlike some here, I would much rather play Denver or the Chargers than Miami in the first round.

I think there are, actually.  Probably far fewer likely scenarios, but still…

From the NYT simulator today.

About the simulator

With 90 games remaining, there are about 1 octillion different ways the N.F.L. regular season could end.

Ya I don't disagree too much with you there.

I do think the chargers get to 10 wins though. Denver is the only team it's 50/50. I see them at 9-8 or 10-7

I definitely don't wanna face Miami in the playoffs, so agree with you on that one

Yeah, as bad as Miami has looked at at times, I don’t like playing a division opponent in the playoffs…too much familiarity, and it would be a kitchen sink game for Miami…

Do you people really think Miami is "winning out"?

The Colts have a better chance of the playoffs than Dolphins.

Colts beat Dolphins already.

Colts games:

@NE

BYE

@DEN (If Colts lose, that's another Broncos win) Broncos playing the Browns this Sunday.

TEN

@NYG

JAX

4 of the last 5 teams are looking to tank.

I said this last week as well. That schedule is set up for the Colts to be the team that sneaks into the 7 spot. The Denver game is clearly huge and Richardson needs to be semi consistent for them to make that happen but there is no reason they can't win 4 out of 5 and get to 9-8 and sneak into the playoffs.

I'm not counting out Cincinnati either, although their schedule, which includes two games vs. the Steelers, makes that unlikely.

Maybe true I dunno but I find it hard to believe, as competitive as Brady is, he wouldn't want some kind of move after being relegated to scout team safety.

I can’t believe after last night there are still people talking about Miami running the table and then being scared of them if they do somehow get in the playoffs.

Miami still has to play 2 more cold weather games. They’ve won ZERO with Tua and McDaniels.

Miami still has to play 1-2 games at least against teams with winning records. Which they very very rarely win.

Tua is one more concussion away from early retirement.

And yet still a narrative of Miami winning out and being a threat. I will never understand this. They have a far greater chance of losing out than winning out.

Their offense when on is prolific.  Same with the Bengals.  I don't think either will win out but if they do I'm sure you'd rather play a Bo Nix led Bronco team.

I’d be 1000000x more nervous of playing Cincinnati in the playoffs than I ever would Miami. Cincinnati can play in the cold and play against winning teams. Wake me up when Miami can.
