Big Turk Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Now we have to suffer through the toilet bowl before getting to the most interesting game of the day 😏 2 Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted November 28 Posted November 28 I have no idea what happened there.... I think Williams was confused because you can't spike it on the next down for the fg because it would be 4th down. So he was probably confused about keeping the timeout. Regardless, just take the timeout with 26-27 seconds Left and then on 4th down have the fg team ready to run out on the field. The bears coach needs to help his rookie QB there. Lions got lucky Complete mental meltdown by the coach. Caleb needs to be aware too that the clock is running down. Not good 1 2 Quote
HomeskillitMoorman Posted November 28 Posted November 28 It’s obviously on both Eberflus and Caleb…but I just don’t get how you can be a coach on the sideline watching what’s happening and the clock and just let it happen like that. 1 3 Quote

Agreed… someone. Any one… should have just ran on to the field and called a time out. Hit a sideline pass.. go for the long FG to tie. Quote

Better draft pick and it guarantees their clueless coach gets fired. Who could imagine that their terrible HC who has been terrible would continue to be terrible. Bears gonna Bear Quote
Sweats Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Well, the Bears almost made a game of it.......... Quote

Not good Throwing a low percentage deep ball like that shows total lack of time awareness. He is a rook though. Coach should be fired 1 1 Quote

FireChans Posted November 28 Posted November 28 28 minutes ago, Einstein said: Yea it was a failure on both accounts. But what was Caleb waiting for? The entire offense was set and ready with 12-13 seconds left and he waited another 5 seconds to snap it. They weren’t set correctly until far past 12-13 seconds. It was a disaster but this is what happened. 1. Bears call normal play, expecting to get it off with at least 5-6 seconds left, leaving time for completion and TO or clock stoppage worn incomplete. 2. Bears offense fails to get set, wasted another good 10 seconds, snap doesn’t come with 6 second left, Bears can’t communicate with Caleb to tell him to throw short or turf if nothing there. 3. Caleb of course throws deep 4. Game over Eberflus should have called TO once the clock got low. Caleb should have thrown it short. Both screwed up, but one is the #1 overall pick rookie, and the other is a completely garbage HC. 1 Quote

Process Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Optimal move in that situation has to be call a TO as soon as he got sacked. Let's you regroup and get a good play call, and also get thee FG team together and ready to run on the field. Way more than enough time to run a play and run the FG unit out. That's on the coaches. 1 4 Quote
