Sweats Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Just curious, what college football teams does everyone root for? This isn't a "my team is better than your team" type of thread......i'm just curious who everyone likes. I've got a couple, no idea why i like them, as there's no rhyme or reason...... Tarheels.......i have family who live in NC, so i try to catch a game when i can Bowling Green......yeah, a smaller program, but i like them for some unknown reason FSU........this year they are garbage, but they are a really good program when they recruit properly Duke........went to a couple of Duke games years ago and they just stuck with me Georgia........nothing more needs to be said here. TCU.......when this team is on, they're on (which is few and far between these days) Baylor......same as TCU above Teams i like to watch, just because...... Bama.......i really don't like Bama, but i like watching Milroe OU.......this team used to be really good but have somehow imploded the past couple of years. I'm confident they'll right the ship and come back strong as ever. Ohio State.........i don't really like the Buckeyes, but i've been watching them since i was a kid and they seem to put together a really good program every year Teams i really can't stand to watch no matter what....... Michigan......just don't like them, never have OSU........this team will break your heart every year Iowa........they are heavily known for always having a good D, but i don't always want to watch defensive games every Saturday ND......i think the only reason i don't really like them is cause my buddy is a big fan of them, so i create the rivalry with him USC......same as Michigan, just don't like them Just throwing this out there cause i am a HUGE college football fan and have always wondered who everyone else likes. 1 2 Quote

I haven't missed an FSU game in about 25 years, but i can't even bring myself to watch any of their games this year. Quote

Recently, yes, since urban left … but I’ve been a fan since 1997 and fortunate enough to have seen 2 national titles since. So not every year thank goodness! Quote
GunnerBill Posted November 29 Posted November 29 I don't have a rooting interest in college football. I root for unpredictability, I root for competition. I root against college football dynasties. I don't think the Alabama domination of the 2010s was good for the sport. I like this unpredictable era. 1 1 Quote
DrW Posted November 29 Posted November 29 For me, it is the "local" team. When I came to the States to Rochester, it was Syracuse. Then we moved to Lubbock because my wife and I both got positions at Texas Tech, and at that time the Red Raiders were intriguing (Mike Leach) and became my favorite team. When the kids went off to college, things got a bit more difficult as they both chose UT Austin. Our son even played in the Longhorn band for 4+ years. Since then, my loyalty is split between TTU and Texas. And then there is a team that I cannot watch: Boise State - the blue turf makes me seasick. Fortunately, it seems that no other program followed suit; otherwise, we would have red, pink, purple or yellow fields. Quote

PonyBoy Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Now that I live in Idaho, Boise St baby! The Blue turf is unique, solid team, Shakir's alma mater. They come on in about half hour today. Jeanty is worth tuning in for. He's like the Shakir of running backs, humble as he is great! I loved San Diego St too when I was there. I still watch UB games, can't forget my roots. A fact you folks may not know. They had a big issue here on Boise St Blue turf when it first opened with geese dying trying to land on the turf thinking it was blue water 🙁 I don't remember how they corrected it, but it was a big deal for animal right lover's. Happy Friday everyone! Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 29 Posted November 29 It’s weird. I root hard for Syracuse in college bball. But have always rooted for Michigan in college football. Not a huge fan— it’s not live or die like the Bills— but I watch all their games and root for them to do well. 1 Quote

I was thinking about a former student of mine Devin Watson today. He was a very talented basketball player at the Army/ Navy Boys Academy in Carlsbad CA. He played at Univ. of San Fran, transferred to San Diego St. I was thinking if he if he made it to the NBA after playing in World leagues. I googled him today. Guess who he plays for??? The Guelph Nighthawks basketball team! Lol!! Quote
