1973ish-Talking Football from Mattel where you put the little records in a player...you choose the offense and your opponent chooses the defense.  Also around that time, Monday Night Football from Aurora, with Roger Staubach on the box.

Ah!  Had this version of MNF where you select an offensive play and the opponent selects a defensive play and it lit up the play result on a little grid underneath the field. You could select plays from cards emphasizing the running game, passing game and special teams. The play result was pretty true to reality; if you threw a bomb and the defense was a blitz, you got wrecked.  This game was the beginning and end of my football strategy knowledge. 🤣🤣

My Maerklin train set. It started when I was 3 with a simple oval and Lego houses. It was expanded every year in the 2-3 weeks before Christmas, until it reached a double oval with working signals and a working catenary - all assembled by my Mom (RIP, Mom). I then bought yards of rail so that we could run trains into every room of the 1,000 sq ft apartment.

Damn, I was going to say the same. I still have and treasure my Marklin's. They only come out at Christmas and setup can be a struggle since the set is so old, but for the most part the track is in good condition and my two locomotives still run. This is from a few years ago.

Mid 60’s I got an Aurora slot car set.  I set it up on a sheet of plywood in the basement.  Had to turn it off when dad was watching Gunsmoke as it made the picture all staticky.  Every year after that I’d get a little more track and a car or two.  Been collecting it ever since.

The static on the TV is great; how did we ever watch a hockey game on those sets?
