Did you watch the doc? Manizels weren’t loaded, that was a lie to cover up all the money Johnny was making in college

This is pretty crazy...

The question to ask is why his Dad had the ability to transfer these funds in the first place?

No word on whether Baker Mayfield’s “money celebration” during the Bucs’ win over the Giants on Sunday was directed as his father and the company rather than New York QB Tommy DeVito.

Well that's a classy comment from a journalist.

Sounds like a ***** situation, also he's on a second contract but he never really got a big one like Allen or Lamar did I don't think.

It’s sad as all get out what money does to some people’s brains. I’ve personally seen a few families ( not my own) get blown up by inheritance feuds but a Father screwing over his son????
I haven’t been a BM fan but it is nice to see him doing well after the sludge he had to swim through to start his career.

Agreed about the comment. Here is the celebration pic. Kind of weird, sort of funny.

The celebration was a Tommy Cutlets thing.

This has been debunked.  There is money in the Manziel family, but "records showed "the cash doesn't appear to reach Johnny Football's branch of the family." "  His father worked as the GM of a Honda dealership, and one reason they pushed Manziel in college as they did was because they were making money off him.

An aquaintance who worked as the finance manager of a dealership shocked me when he told me how much money he makes.   Dealerships can be highly profitiable and GMs can make a very good (6 figure++) income.  Though nothing like football money.

Very true. My step uncle back in the early 90s was making over 100 grand a year.

It's pretty clear the Manziel family lived in a very nice home and drove nice cars (maybe in part from the dealership?)

But the representation has been that Johnny Football came from big Oil Money, and that isn't true - they weren't making so much money that profiting off their son's college football career and NFL wasn't an interest.

Without more knowledge, I can’t feel too strongly.
