Steptide Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I've long said that the nfl should be involved in these smaller leagues. Obviously it'd never be as big as the nfl, but being backed by the nfl would definitely help. Have minor league pro teams in the same cities/stadiums as the nfl teams. Also, I'd change the rules for these minor football leagues. The current rules are way too similar to current nfl rules. I would eliminate punting completely. Give each team 4 downs, if they can't get a 1st down, ball goes over to the other team. I'd also make it a rule that teams can only run once per every 1st down. So in a 4 down set, a team can only run once. If these leagues want any chance at success, they need to cater to the level of players that are playing and also make it more watchable for fans. 1 Quote

Back when the XFL debuted, the San Francisco Demons had a strong following amongst fans. It could work again. Had to look them up. They did have tons of support, almost 35.000 fans per game: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_Demons Where would they play. At Kezar? Quote

UFL season runs from April thru June, so there's a little overlap with the NLL. 1 Quote

TheFunPolice Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) they should think a little outside the box... A team in Maine A team in Alaska A team in Hawaii The catch? Same division. Seriously though, this league should explore "secondary cities" where instead of being 1 of like 10 pro teams they would be a major story in town. State College PA would be a cool idea. Football crazy town, no pro teams. Iconic venue. Edited 23 hours ago by TheFunPolice Quote
