Since1981 Posted November 27 Posted November 27 No. Spring football. Wiser business decision is to place in non NFL cities and pair with NFL. like a Rochester minor league Bills. More like hockey. NFL needs to be careful with their expansion plans. Too many games in NFL today. Just a couple extra weeks has created a new oddity. Teams in or out of playoff statistically in November with a championship in late February. That is more baseball-like, bad for the sport. Couple yrs ago “20 teams in the wildcard hunt” in December. Bad for your business when teams have no hope, early. 1 1 Quote

Schools add and drop programs all the time. And being a mid-major, consistent success is harder because if you are good, your coaches leave for bigger schools. You seem to think if there was no football, we'd magically become Gonzaga or something. Quote

I wish the school the best, I just hate that chasing mediocre football dreams is ruining their other sports You act like they've been a basketball powerhouse for 50 years and they gutted it lol Witherspoon was at UB for like 14 years and didn't win 1 Mac championship in basketball.. What they did is luck out with Bobby Hurley and Nate oats back to back Those two people are responsible for the basketball program becoming good not the school being a great basketball school UB baseball was mediocre... With a couple of good kids.. but every single division one baseball program has a couple good kids The program also lost them money It's hard to have a consistent program when you can't play home games when the baseball season starts because it's too cold so they're constantly on the road in the beginning of the season and the program loses money UB football brings in the most money and it doesn't lose any Go watch UB women's nobody stopping you 1 hour ago, CaseyatBat said: Yes it is. Do you pay attention to even realize they cut their baseball program? You literally bring up their baseball program LOL It was completely mediocre and it was tough to play home games at home when the season started because the weather It also lost money They didn't cut baseball because of football.. they cut it because it was losing the money, and it was mediocre They had a couple of good kids on losing baseball teams.. I don't care if they had a few kids drafted because basically every single division one baseball school has kids drafted There's 45 rounds.. division two players get drafted and so do division 3 players UB should have some MLB draftees being division 1 It doesn't change the fact that they play 15 straight road games to start seasons... Had the lowest budget in the Mac.. and the worst facilities The baseball program was dying before they finished it off Edited November 27 by Buffalo716 Quote

To believe otherwise is misinformed — basketball will be terrible for the next decade as they put all NIL funds into that mediocre football team that nobody cares about I really hope they get a better president or AD that realizes the path to a better future is to lower football to FCS or D2 Edited November 27 by CaseyatBat Quote

To believe otherwise is misinformed The baseball program was getting cut regardless because the facilities were not up to D1 level and they were not going to upgrade them They play 15 straight away games to start the season because the weather isn't good enough to play at home You think playing 15 straight away games is okay for a division I School? Reasons like that are why they cut the program They lose money because they had to go on the road 15 straight games UB as an athletic department spends more money today on basketball then they did 7 years ago and track and field... Because getting rid of a baseball program that was outdated and losing money You act like you're super informed yet don't care about the school... But I care about the school and I've been involved in it for 20 years Edited November 27 by Buffalo716 Quote
CaseyatBat Posted November 27 Posted November 27 The goal should be, and it’s attainable if they can get people in the seats, is to be Dayton. Always good in bball, FCS football that doesn’t cripple everything else Quote

Division 1 programs take 20 30 40 years to build sustainably These school's been playing football for 110th Straight years... It doesn't happen overnight Our children will see a better UB football program then we did Quote

Two MAC championship games in a row That is attainable for UB football with other coaches And they did lead the Mac in attendance FYI during leipold days Edited November 27 by Buffalo716 Quote

Kirby Jackson Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Buffalo has been hit and miss with minor league sports. The Bandits get phenomenal support. There was some stat last year that was like “their lowest attended game was more attended than the highest attended game anywhere else in the league.” Before someone tries to come with the “that’s not a minor league sport,” it is. There are 4 major professional team sports. Maybe someday the MLS will make 5. Everything else is a minor league. There have been others that have come and gone. The Destroyers, Stallions, Wings and Blizzard all come to mind. The Bisons are hanging around. I just don’t see this minor league football thing working in Buffalo. It’s a pass from me. Quote
