PromoTheRobot Posted November 25 Posted November 25 (edited) The UFL is mostly in warm weather markets. But Bills Mafia are tough!! Could we get 10-15K to show up for spring ball? Who wouldn't want a few more tailgate opportunities. Also, our old pal Russ Brandon manages the UFL. https://search.app?link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theufl.com%2Fnews%2F2024%2Fnovember%2F25%2Funited-football-league-launches-expansion-process-for-new-team-markets&utm_campaign=aga&utm_source=agsadl1%2Csh%2Fx%2Fgs%2Fm2%2F4 Edited November 25 by PromoTheRobot 3 1 Quote
msw2112 Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I'd vote no. Ideally, Buffalo fans will spend their time and money attending Sabres games in the spring. The Sabres, of course, need to do their part, which is a big ask. As a smaller market, there just are not that many entertainment dollars to go around. 2 6 Quote

This, the entire pie, has only so many pieces, people have in general allocated their entertainment dollars towards what is entertaining, watching truly mediocre or worse football is not likely to be particularly high on most people’s agenda, jmo. 1 2 1 Quote

GMB 8888 Posted November 25 Posted November 25 This could be a cool idea, if they could maybe tie in a reno to UB’s stadium. I know people hate on it, but I don’t mind spring football. Requires little investment and the games last year weren’t terrible. Quote
Mark Vader Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Bring football back to Oakland! They have a stadium. 2 1 Quote

One sentence…renovate UB Stadium(which is really a teardown and rebuild) to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. Next sentence…requires little investment. Huh? Quote

As for UB stadium, I don't think there is anything that wrong with it. Yeah the track sucks, but it's not like the field is a million miles away from the stands. But why can't you play games at Highmark? I would think adding 5-6 more events to the stadium calendar would be a good thing, a little extra revenue. People are used to football played at Highmark. Sell seats on just one side to save on staffing concessions, security etc. Charge $10 to park, $20-$30 for tickets. 10K attendance would be a healthy number for the UFL. I wonder if the UFL could afford the rent, security, lighting, clean up, prep and all of those things that come with opening a 70k seat stadium... I think if there was a team, county would love have them use it. I think it would be on the UFL to ultimately see if they could afford it. 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted November 26 Posted November 26 No...people barely go to the UB Bulls games and they have been pretty decent to good for much of the last 6-7 years. 1 1 Quote

gonzo1105 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I would think No. UB could be a much better program if they could get butts in the seats but Buffalonians don’t really have any interest in them. They could be in the Big 10 someday if people would invest and in return the school would invest in making that happen Quote
