I remember our lease deal was basically structured for a team to fail. The state would cut a $7M payment if we distributed a certain amount of tickets and concession revenue didn’t hit a certain the target. Basically they would subsidize the revenue difference. There were many games where hundreds of tickets were comped, scanned in and thrown in the trash. We hit the distribution target but also helped keep the concession revenue below the target by throwing them out. Pretty sure the league/state would be furious.

 

We also changed the pricing structure of suite tickets so that they wouldn’t hit the revenue sharing with the players. That was super shady but that’s what he wanted.

The NFL isn't going to the MLB model.   They can't afford to.   The NFL would have never survived if they hadn't gone to shared media rights, revenue and salary cap.  It's the entire key to their existence and popularity.  They simply don't make enough inventory with each team only playing 20x(17 real 3 preseason) per year before playoffs.   They can't have a bunch of meaningless, regional interest only matchups like MLB can because they can't live off of the gate.

 

The team Bezos should buy is the Yankees.   MLB is desperate to level the field like the NFL has but they won't be able to get the Yankees, Dodgers, Red Sox and now Mets to ever agree to that.   Those teams, except for the Mets to this point(but that will change), are a money press and applying that money yields results on the field over the long haul.   Buying an NFL team is also a money press but only if you follow the rules.......which means revenue sharing and spending limitations due to a salary cap.

A few years ago my wife started agitating to get a Boston Terrier.

Even though I don't know ***** all about the breed, it was still instantly a hard No.

Totally agree.  Any Bills fan who has a New England pro sports rooting interest is a traitorous d-bag.  They have learned to hide it on the board.  With the sh!t that went down with the Braves and Bruins and cheating Patriots........I mean, you can't shack up with those fans just because you want to front run in hoops or baseball.   That's disgusting.

Had the Red Sox succeeded in signing Alex Rodriguez, then they’d be scummier than the Yankees. 
 

Alas … they did not and they are not. 
 

If anything/anyone ever caused me to put the Mets in my rear view mirror, you bet your sweet, redneck ass I’d become a Red Sox fan faster that you could shove your fist into a cow’s va jay jay.

Yep. His behaviour on the sideline after that final play was, yet again, embarrassing. He got away with being a douche when he was the best QB in football. Now even his supposed buddy Devante Adams looks thoroughly sick of him.

I'm not a mental health professional, but he seems to fit the narcissist profile to me. All success is because of him, all failure is someone else.  His ego won't let him do any introspection, so as his physical attributes have gone downhill he can't compensate by playing more humbly. What a terrible face of a franchise. 

 

I hope the Jets sign him for another 10 years.
