thenorthremembers Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Tannebaum worked with Terry Bradway for a long while. I would expect his son Mike who works in the Chiefs organization to have a leg up for GM. I also fully expect they will try hard to go after Ben Johnson who was with Tannenbaum in Miami. A few other coaches to consider who have worked under Tannenbaum or Speilman; Dennard Wilson, Vance Joseph, Matt Burke, Kevin Stefanski, Brian Daboll, and Klint Kubiak. That said, none of this matters if they screw up the QB decision again. 1 Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted November 25 Posted November 25 (edited) I'm guessing nobody prominent wants anything to do with the jets so woody is bringing in tannenbaum because he trusts him as a friend. That's fine I guess But if he's smart he'll listen to Rick Spielman. A football guy from a great football family and solid resume. He's not perfect and has some misses but he's not a clown. High character guy Id honestly just hire Rick spielman as gm and let him run things if I was in Woody's shoes. If tannenbaum is in charge or he's making the hire this is going to be a disaster. Tannenbaum should simply be a friend here looking out for Woody's interest and nothing more hopefully. Edited November 25 by Kelly to Allen 1 Quote
RiotAct Posted November 26 Posted November 26 yeah, heard them talking about this on One Bills Live this afternoon and was cracking up. Quote
gonzo1105 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I hope the Mike Tannenbaum that I see giving opinions on television isn't the same guy who is helping in this search. I always found his takes really dumb. Quote
The Jokeman Posted November 26 Posted November 26 People were calling for Pegula to find a football czar when he was looking for GM/HC many wanted Polian to be that guy. I don't blame Woody for getting perspective from guys that have been in league before. Not sure they're the best but at end of day I'd respect their thoughts than Woody alone. I mean if going to go with hot names I think hottest HC candidate is going to be Ben Johnson from Detroit and we could see a team pair him with Ray Agnew, Detroit's assistant GM. Yet if I'm either one of those guys I ditch Rodgers ASAP. Quote

It's his dream job so he'll be great OC - Nathaniel Hackett ... A A Ron will be happy DC - Rex Ryan ... It's on baby QB - Aaron Rodgers ... A new 3 year 150M fully guaranteed contract Marrone does do well at rebuilding the culture. He's a different version of McD. I think if we would have kept Marrone one more year (and I wasn't opposed) we would have made the playoffs. I didn't want him to coach after we turned the franchise around, I wanted a McVay or Shannahan type. Quote

I'll guess Spielman and Tannebaum together know more about football coaches and GMs just about any owner. Some critics may point out that their credentials are weak considering they both ended their GM careers in failure. But, then again, look at us fans. We always know with certainty who should be the GM and coach of our favorite team and we have no experience or insider knowledge whatsoever. Spielmen was a pretty good GM in Minnesota. It was probably time for a change in the end, he'd been there 10 years, but I think they generally had solid rosters during that period. 1 2 Quote

Never would have guessed it Quote

Your certified check for our consultants fee will be gladly received. Respectfully, Tannenbaum, Spielman, and Associates. Division of Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe. The best part is you don't even have to pay them a salary. They are still getting paid by the Giants 2 Quote

Tonight on 'My Two Franchises', John Mara takes offense at Woody's 'bling'. Aaron goes missing on a discovery of self awareness, and Danny Dimes parks a camper in a stadium lot. Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 There! Four coaches of the Apocalypse, and none are Wrecks. Send me $1,000, and we'll call it even! 😁 2 Quote

I agree... the people doing the search meh... but at least he left it to football minds. We will see who they come up with... 1 Quote
