skibum Posted November 27 Posted November 27 If the playoffs started today, the Bills would host the Broncos in the first round, then would host the 2nd-lowest remaining seed in the second round (Steelers, Texans, Ravens, Chargers, in descending order of current rank). BUT, in the end, the Bills could win the top seed, and get a 1st round bye. Assuming only the Bills would be able to get seeded ahead of the Chiefs at this point, WOULD YOU RATHER: - Bills host Broncos in round 1 (highly winnable), then host anyone but the Ravens in round 2 (the other three seem equally and reasonably winnable), OR - Bills get a bye, then host the Ravens in round 2. Two very winnable games, OR, a week of rest followed a much-less-winnable game. I would take the bye regardless, especially if the Ravens game was in Buffalo. Any team can get frisky in the playoffs, and injuries are real. Byes are king. 2 1 Quote

If we're say 50/50 or even 45/55 to beat Ravens and 65/35 to beat two beatable teams, our chances of making it to the AFCCG are worse having to play two games (0.65*0.65 = 0.42) rather than one (0.45/0.50). I also feel as though we haven't yet seen the full playbook offensively, mainly because we've been hobbled with injuries at WR. Yes the Bills have scored over 30 points in 8 of 11 games including the last 5 and haven't really opened up the playbook as far as I can tell. Our offense has not been gimmicky which gives me lots of hope that Brady will be able to dial up some nice plays when needed down the stretch and in the postseason. 2 Quote
