iwishitwerecolder Posted November 25 Posted November 25 (edited) These are my best case and worst case scenarios for the Bills first round playoff matchups. Keep in mind, I’m not saying we CAN’T beat any of these teams. Worst case scenarios: (not in any order) 1. Bengals (Beat us in the playoffs before; would be a horrible first round matchup if they make the playoffs.) 2. Ravens (Have a strong offense; 2x MVP QB with the best RB in the game in Derrick Henry.) 3. Chargers (Top 3 Defense, Top 5 QB, and a smart coach/scheme. Would be a hard first round matchup.) HM: Texans Best case scenarios: (not in any order) 1. Broncos (Rookie Quarterback, iffy offensive weapons, inconsistency against winning teams.) 2. Dolphins (Cmon now 🤣) 3. Steelers (Mediocre offense, mediocre Quarterback, and way to reliant on winning ugly close game. Not a very strong formula for winning playoff football, and we have had the upper hand against them in recent years. HM: Colts Let me know yalls thoughts Edited November 25 by iwishitwerecolder 2 1 Quote

Perhaps he's more understanding of certain defenses? He's just playing with even more confidence than last year. I feel like every NFL team should NOT want to see us in the playoffs. And if you think for a second that doesn't apply to the Chiefs, think again. They fear us and Allen going in. I guarantee that. I also feel as though we haven't yet seen the full playbook offensively, mainly because we've been hobbled with injuries at WR. Edited November 25 by Blackbeard 1 3 1 Quote

They showed him and McCaffrey on those goofy game previews on SNF last night, and I remember thinking "Whoa" looking at Allen juggling the football. He looked so confident he had an aura about him. McCaffrey on the other hand looked beaten down. 1 Quote
hondo in seattle Posted November 25 Posted November 25 The Ravens are the team I worry most about. Our defense is built to stop the pass, not stop power backs like Henry. And we can't compensate for our weakness but stacking the box because they can throw too. I actually worry about every game because our roster isn't spectacularly better than any other roster we'll face in the playoffs. 3 2 Quote

Makes things so much easier on offense and opens up so many things on the defense. Also, as long as #17 is our QB, we have a chance to beat any team we face in the playoffs. Go Bills!! 3 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Worst case is the Chargers. They have had talent for a while with poor coaching. Now they have a top tier coach, a top 6 QB, 3 former first rounder on the OL, and a tough defense. They played us tough last year and had the lead late in the game. They will be a tough out in the playoffs. Agree with others Colts or Texans would be best case scenario but one will be the division winner and I don't think the other won't make the playoffs, so little chance of playing them in the first round. Broncos is probably the best case scenario. They have a good defense but also a rookie QB. I'd take that matchup any day. 2 Quote

Even a team like Miami, who I feel has benefitted from an easy schedule as of late, will be a tough opponent. It’s not always easy to beat a divisional opponent twice in a season. Three times is even harder. My hope is that the next few weeks will allow the team to be battle-tested and that they’ll get to the playoffs as healthy as possible 1 Quote
JohnNord Posted November 25 Posted November 25 1 hour ago, Process said: Colts are easily beat case scenario and Texans would be #2, they suck I’ve been very unimpressed with Houston. Defense has good players but collectively they can’t stop anyone. Also Stroud has taken a downturn and it seems like he really misses Diggs as a safety blanket. Remember last season how Bobby Slowik almost became a head coach? I don’t think that happens next season Quote

Hobbled and also still developing chemistry with Allen, at least in the case of Coleman, Samuel, and Cooper. With Allen, the tight ends, and a line that's been playing together all season, this offense is on the rise. Barring more injuries, it should be peaking just when the playoffs hit. It's a nice time to be a Bills fan, isn't it? At this point in the season, I'm used to thinking about the draft next year. Quote
Dillenger4 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 My worst fear is either The Steelers or Miami. The Phins are playing well and Tua is finally over his injury it seems. If/when they beat GB this week on Thursday night, the media will be all over them as the hottest team trending towards the playoffs. We beat them by 3 points in our last match and for some reason.... they scare me. 1 1 Quote
Sweats Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I love when we play the Fins......the rivalry is excellent with some good end to end action. We've seen that Tua can't play in the cold, and he has yet to win a playoff game, but at least i know when we play them every time, they bring their "A" game and that's good for the fans. The Steelers scare no one.......nothing more needs to be said here. The Bungles are hit and miss.......they always run hot and cold and this year is no different. Burrow is still having a good season, but he has very little supporting cast around him, so i would expect they are a "one and done" in the post season. The Chargers have a good young team, but i don't think this is their year (maybe next year), but they are on pace to having a lot of good years ahead of them. The Bolts don't scare me........yet. The Ravens scare the hell outta me. We match up poorly with them and Lamar looks like he has found his passing rhythm cause last night he was dropping dimes......and the King, well the dude is a steamroller and good luck to teams trying to take him out of the equation. The Colts are just plain dead.........they just don't know it and no one has told them yet. KC doesn't strike fear into teams this year like years past. They are beatable and Mahomes looks like a shell of his former self, however, they always seem to turn it on in the post season where KC just continues to rack up wins and Lombardi's. The Texans started off hot and then kind of dwindled off pace with injuries. I'm not counting them out, but i think the 2nd meeting (if it ever happens) with the Bills, we will crush soundly. Now with all this being said, i still don't think there's an AFC team that can beat the Bills. I think the only team that can beat the Bills, are the Bills themselves with penalties, sloppy play, turn overs, undisciplined play, poor game management, etc......i think the 3 big ball beaters in the AFC are the Bills, the Ravens and KC and it'll be fun to see if all 3 steamroll the rest of the AFC or if a contender shows up for the crown. Stay tuned. Quote
US Egg Posted November 26 Posted November 26 The cold weather team theory seemed antiquated imo. But, tackling D.H. in the cold beyond the line of scrimmage…..yikes! Baltimore looks more a cold weather team than anyone. Quote

Doc Brown Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I've seen this team beat the Ravens, Dolphins, Steelers, and Chiefs multiple times. We haven't beaten the Burrow led Bengals. We got stomped by them in the playoffs and were outplayed by them last year although we made it interesting at the end. Their defense is kind of the opposite of ours where it's below average in the regular season but steps it up in the playoffs. Give me the Colts, Broncos, or Chargers please. Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I feel comfortable playing anyone. Especially fully healthy. Quote
