What happens if Baltimore loses tonight?  Is it the start of playoff madness?

The Ravens at 7-5 (4-5 in the conference) opens the door to some craziness since they have two more games they could lose vs Philly and Pitt!

I said this last week but no-one agreed.

I would nit be shocked if Baltimore misses the playoffs.

Chargers, Eagles, Steelers, Texans is a brutal final stretch. Plus the Browns, who always give them a tough game and beat them earlier this year.

I think it actually stinks for us, because if we get the 2 seed and Ravens get the 7 seed, that’s a tough wild card matchup.

Does Lamar win the MVP even if he misses the playoffs?

It's possible, but I think the last couple of teams that get in are going to have pretty weak records this year.

That’s the other thing - if it comes down to a tiebreaker, and Baltimore loses the games I mentioned, they lose nearly every tiebreaker.

Just losses against Chargers, and Texans would mean they would have to have a full game lead ahead of them, and they would have a worse conference record (another tiebreaker) than most of their opponents vying for those spots.

I’m not saying they won’t make it - just that I wouldn’t be shocked if they don’t.

We all know the more Josh wins, the better Lamar's chances.

Houston is playing pretty poorly, so I can't see them beating the Ravens.  I think they play both the Steelers and Browns at home, which is a big plus for them.  OTOH, if Jameis gets hot, he will shred the Ravens' pass defense.   I can see the Ravens going 3-2 with wins against the Stillers and Texans.

1. Buffalo 14-3

2. KC       14-3

3. Balt      11-6

4. Hou     11-6

5. Pitt      10-7

6. LAC    10-7

7. Den     9-8

Just a guess

Houston will be the fourth seed, but they surely won't win 11 games.   They are playing poorly on both sides of the ball.   They play the Jags, Dolphins, Chiefs, Ravens, and Titans.   They will probably beat the Jags.  Maybe they beat Tennessee.  They make the playoffs only because they win the AFCS where all the other teams are so far in the hole, they probably can't get to 8 or 9 wins even if they somehow started playing like juggernauts.

Well, I wouldn't say shocked, but it would surprise me a bit if they missed the playoffs. However I would also be glad

KC has next 4 in a row at home? Dang.

Really, that's crazy. I don't think I can recall any team having 4 straight home games in a row. Seen 3 in a row, but never seen 4 that I can remember. Not saying it hasn't happened, but I can't think of any teams schedule having 4 straight home games and I've seen many of schedules in my day. I don't have the best memory either these days so that's probably it.

But either way, it's got to be pretty rare thing for a team getting 4 home games in a row at any point in a season right?

No. Their remaining schedule is:

Home to Raiders

Home to Chargers

at Browns

Home to Texans

at Steelers

at Broncos

In that order.
