Ravens or Chargers tonight? Consider the playoffs

I'm still assuming KC is the #1 seed. So we want Baltimore to enter the playoffs as a wildcard. That makes it likely they play KC in the divisional round which is the dream scenario. We could have something like Denver in the wildcard and Pittsburgh in the divisional... That's as easy a path as you can get en route to the AFCCG likely in KC.

I’d prefer the Chargers win but I’m mainly just hoping Lamar plays bad regardless of the outcome

I'm just going to repeat that the Broncos have 2 easy games coming up (Browns, Bye, Colts) and if the Ravens lose tonight and to Eagles next week,

the Ravens are in the #7 seed and Broncos in #6.

 

I think the chances of the Broncos being the 7th seed are no way etched in stone.

If the Broncos stumble the Dolphins are on their heels.

 

It's going to be very exciting to see how all this unfolds.

Ravens win....they challenge for the AFC North and drops the Steelers down to the wildcards who the bills could potentially be a first round opponent (if the bills don't get the bye). Steelers look fake to me, but if the bills don't get the bye the Ravens could be a second round matchup vs the Bills but most likely in Buffalo.

 

Chargers win.... They keep a bit of heat on the chiefs for the AFC West just to keep them honest, maybe stealing it if things breakdown right, if the bills don't get the bye  this would almost assure the 7 seed be Denver, (which doesn't scare me look at their schedule it's a joke), or maybe if Denver fell apart Miami sneaks in lol. Leading to a first round match of Ravens vs Steelers, in Pittsburgh, where Pittsburgh can clip them and end up being the bills second round opponent.... If the bills don't get the bye

 

 

Thoughts?

Thoughts ( a few)...

A) I really hate when fans B word about opponents' schedules. We all know the NFL's system, which is pretty good IMHO. Schedules rotate, & it's luck of the draw. The Broncos are taking advantage of it, they are improved.

 

B) Don't be concerned with playing the Ratbirds in the playoffs. They might win one game, but they aren't strong enough on D to be taken seriously. 

 

C) Chargers- could be dangerous, but unproven. Great coach. Might sneak into my "D" category below. Let's see if they can score points tonight against a horrible defensive team.

 

 

D) KC, Buffalo, & Pittsburgh are the only real contenders in the AFC. Yep, Pittsburgh lol. They play D, & have a decent coach. They're overdue ( I hate em) for playoff success.

 

Saying all that, of course the injury bug could effect any team. Look at SF yesterday.

That's fair but Baltimore has the tiebreaker over Denver. I find it unlikely that they will end up with less wins than Denver but it's certainly possible.

The last 3 games for both these teams are interesting.  Probably will be throwing in Miami too.

 

Ravens:  Steelers, Texans, Browns

Broncos:  Chargers, Bengals, Chiefs (don't know if the Chiefs need that game yet).

Miam:  49ers, Browns, Jets

 

There are some great games with a lot of consequences coming up!  I'm just saying the 7th seed is going to be a dog fight between

some teams.

Getting the Ravens a 5th loss would be ideal, so go Chargers!

 

If we play the Chargers it'll be here in the cold and snow, and they don't worry me as much as the Ravens. That said, both are tough teams.

It's too far out for me to guess matchup implications. As such, I root for what aids the Bills most in their seeding 

 

A Chargers win still has almost no chance of them overtaking the Chiefs. A Ravens win puts them with 2 games of edging out the Bills. As such, go Chargers

Root for the Chargers. Unless either team completely flame out they'll be in the playoffs, with the Steelers difficult schedule down the stretch, we want Baltimore to keep losing so they stay in the WC spot. They will almost guaranteed to both be in the 5th or 6th seed unless Baltimore comes back to win the North. Root for the Chargers.

Hate to say it but Miami and their schedule looks primed for a run.

 

Ravens and Broncos have tough last three games.  But Miami, Tua is back to 100% and their offense is rolling, their last three games are or should be easy as the 49ers are a wounded shipwreck especially after we beat them next weekend so the Fins end with three very winnable games.

Chargers aint catching the Chiefs, so that puts them in Wild Card along with one of the Ravens and Steelers. 

 

Thankfully, both the Ravens and Steelers have a tough remaining schedule and play each other.

 

If we're aiming for the 1 or 2 seed, we should all be rooting for the Chargers.

 

Miami is waving hello. Did a bunch of models of the remaining games to playoffs.  Miami has a better chance than Denver to be #7
