Another Fan Posted November 25 Posted November 25 (edited) Back in the day Disney stuff actually seemed pretty cool to me. As a kid I got jealous even of classmates that had the Disney cable channel in their home. Some of mine: The Mighty Ducks, original Toy Story, and Homeward Bound. Fantasia was pretty good too. Oliver and Company is still pretty good. It’s hilarious for me to learn Cheech Marin was a voice! Didn’t realize that as a kid Edited November 26 by Another Fan Quote
Sweats Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I didn't know until this past weekend that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was a Disney movie and the only reason i knew that is cause after me and my wife wasted 3 hours of our life watching that garbage, i had to see who made that POS. 1 2 1 Quote
jayg Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I didn't like Temple of Doom or Crystal Skull but surprisingly loved Dial. I'm weird. 12 minutes ago, Sweats said: I didn't know until this past weekend that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was a Disney movie and the only reason i knew that is cause after me and my wife wasted 3 hours of our life watching that garbage, i had to see who made that POS. Honestly, we liked the last 30 minutes of the movie, but the first 2.5 hours was just dragging on....... Part of the problem for us was our surround sound system for our tv when we're watching movies. It picked up too much background noise in the movie and we couldn't filter it out, so we heard everything going on in the background of the movie and couldn't make out any dialogue. It was very weird cause i can usually filter it all enough for most movies and this one, not so much. 1 Quote

My hearing is shot when it comes to background music/ action sounds, the dialogue gets muddy. Too much loud, Metal music has finally caught up to me. If there's no background noise I hear perfectly, I think. I have tennitus now too, good times. 1 Quote
The Jokeman Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Disney owns too much these days. Yet if mean pure Disney, I've gotta go with the original Jungle Book is top of my list and Fantasia and Snow white to name a few. 3 Quote
BillsPride12 Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Mighty Ducks and Homeward Bound stand out to me 1 Quote
RichStadiumGuy Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Has to be Fantasia when I saw it for the first time in the early 70's! That bag of shrooms the two of us split just before walking into the theater may have enhanced my enjoyment of it a bit though :) 2 Quote
US Egg Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I thought “The Love Bug” was comedic gold and groovy. I was 11. 1 Quote

Sweats Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang........a scary dude wandering the streets stealing kids and putting them in cages? That scene haunted me for years when i was a kid. Man, you couldn't get away with making a movie like that nowadays. 1 Quote
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I'm going to say Pixar is its own thing - NOT Disney. That being said... Fantasia has always been my favorite. When we were in Alaska recently we re-watched Brother Bear and that was actually kind of fun. 1 1 Quote

Sweats Posted November 25 Posted November 25 My old man took me to see The Black Hole at the movie theatre when i was a kid........he was really into a lot of sci-fi stuff, although i didn't see the great hype over this movie cause it really wasn't my thing at the time. Fast forward many, many years and i watched this movie again not too long ago and kicked my younger self for poo pooing this movie. It's a really good movie (yes, it is dated) but it brings a lot to the movie experience, it brings a lot to the screen, and it brings a lot to progressive thinking on longevity and an eventual realization of nothingness. I give this Disney movie two rockets straight up. 1 Quote
