There's too much veteran talent on the team for them to close out a season with Super Bowl aspirations with a whimper. I expect to get their best effort and a difficult game. Sorry I picked your post to respond to (it's nothing personal) but these kinds of comments frustrate me. Do you think the 49ers weren't in "desperation mode" yesterday at Green Bay? There's no reason not to expect every team's "best effort" in every game. That crap happens in high school and college when a guy's girlfriend breaks up with him the night before the game or the guys are more worried about the party afterwards. Not in the pros (unless you're the Giants and you see your front office kick your QB to the curb for a caricature so you decide you're not going to lay it on the line for them). The 49ers are only a game out of first in their very winnable division. Of course they are still playing for something. If the Bills aren't prepared they'll lose. I'm not really worried that they won't be. 5 2 Quote

Purdy isn't playing. I'm not so sure that is the case. I mean it's just Monday so I would assume it's too early to determine whether or not if Purdy will play imo. Also the line can change any time between now and Friday. It's more of a "guess" imo Quote

I'm not really worried that they won't be. This just isn't true. No player or team is at their best all the time. They aren't robots. Why can't record holding athletes consistently have results at that limit? Because 100 different things need to come together just right for optimal performance. If it was, you wouldn't see Cleveland beat Pittsburgh or Josh have a game like VS the Texans. Every single team and player has ups and downs in their performance. You'd be lucky to see any individual player play at their absolute peak more than a few times per year. Quote

The same goes for Jonathan Taylor...He had something like 5 yards in the 2nd half. Are you sure Joe Mixon was good against us with Houston? Please go back and review his numbers and let me know. Maybe I am forgetting some memorable runs in our game this year, but since he was injured and out - I am pretty sure he ran for like 0 yards against us. 2 1 Quote

DapperCam Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Everybody is saying the 49ers are in "desperation mode". Based on my viewing they are in "mail it in mode". Bills by a billion. Quote

I would say the games against Seahawks in their division as much more important along with yesterday vs Packers which also is an NFC opponent that would be considered more of a "desperation mode" than against an AFC opponent in the Bills. Just my 2 cents here, as I mentioned in a previous post if any game that one might consider them in desperation mode, it's the last 2 games against a division rival and yesterday against a NFC opponent. Both are much more important than against the AFC Bills 2 Quote

Are the dolphins worthy of respect? No. They haven't earned it This is viewing a hated rival through buffalo glasses. 'Nice' skill players. They have exceptional skill players, even with Hill hurting Tua is playing very well and getting better each week. Only a biased fan would say they're not worthy of respect. Thursday will day a lot about them, if Green Bay handles them, then you may be right in your assessment. But they are a challenge because of their offense. Quote
Billznut Posted November 25 Posted November 25 (edited) Miami has lost 11 straight with the temp under 40, by an average of 17 points. Tua has NEVER won a game with the temp below 45. By the way, temps for Thursday night in Green Bay expected to be in the 20s. Wake me up when Tua and the Dolphins win a cold weather game. Until then, they should not be considered a serious team, especially for post season talk. Edited November 25 by Billznut 2 Quote

I think Miami with Tua is good and they are dangerous. If they get a W in GB I think they go on to win enough to get the 7 seed. 1 Quote
Chicharito Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Snow storm and high winds make this an even tougher game. Hopefully we can maintain CMC. We do that we win. Quote

It's not that hard to wear some cold weather under armor. I'm interested in how they handle the cold in GB. They also have games in Cleveland and New Jersey. 1 Quote

(Including the loss against the Bills) I hope I am wrong though Quote

Not to speak for the poster you quoted, but I believe there are many that feel like it's hard to have a whole lot of respect for them when considering what they've done against teams with winning records. I mean there's respect for them, but only to a certain extent. But I'd say that's the case for many people when viewing the Fins from that particular standpoint and not quite as much who simply, "view a hated rival through buffalo glasses", or "only a biased Fan" Quote

Alphadawg7 Posted November 25 Posted November 25 HOUSE DIVIDED! This is the first time since my wife and I started dating that NINERS and BILLS are facing off haha. She’s a die hard Niner fan but also supports the Bills when not playing her Niners. She’s bummed her team has had a crap season instead of this being two titans playing this week. It will be a first full day in our new house too…should still be fun…at least for me haha 🤣 4 1 Quote
