Those forecasts are based on normal mesoscale weather models not the microscale ones needed to predict lake snow effectively. The models those places are using have no idea what is going to happen. This is a localized event and they don't have the models for that. Additionally, much of this isn't known yet due to how localized these bands are and a small shift in wind direction can change the band placement completely and be the difference between places 5 miles away getting nothing or getting multiple feet. It's coming...they just can't give you all the details on a daily basis yet. Non-game note (because I'll be settled in across from a blazing fire in the woodstove with a bottle of beautiful Cabernet)...but serious UGH for traveling. I'm thinking about thousands of people converging on the same airports and rental car stations (BUF, ROC, SYR) trying to get home on Thanksgiving Sunday. It will be bad enough traveling on that day...now add 4+ feet of snow and high winds. Just a nightmare of cancelled flights. 1 Quote

I know he has an awesome record coming off the bye.But this is a superbowl contending team. Hope they come out sharp for a national audience. Edited November 27 by The Helmet of Quote

In my experience, most Raiders fans I've met are fiercely loyal, proud, are NOT fairweather fans, and proudly display their team's colors all year round. I'd tend to attribute it to the fact that the Raiders spent most of their existence in Oakland, a city which has a very blue collar east coast kind of feel to it. Then again, I know plenty of Raiders fans aren't from Oakland and have never been there. Being a Raiders fan is an identity unto itself, going back to the 1960s. Tough, hard nosed, fierce, rule-breaking, outlaw football. "The autumn wind is a raider", and all that jazz. Anyway...It's interesting being an east coast Bills diehard living in mellow, west coast, soccer fan country. People think I'm crazy. That's okay -- I probably am. Raider nation is truly a fan base that deserved better than what they got in moving to Vegas. My friend is a 15 year season ticket holder, and 2 tickets in Vegas cost double than the 4 tickets he had at the coliseum. And the airlines price gouge hard on flights to vegas before raider games. All the middle class blue collar raider fans got priced out. Really sad. I will say josh allen has made alot of west coast bills fans. I see 17 jerseys pretty often, rural Fresno area (joshs hometown) is covered in bills and wyoming jerseys. 4 Quote

You could turn the game off to get forward progress if the player started turning. You could help the player run straight by brushing the players forward on a tablecloth to straighten the feet under the base. On a passing play, when you get an open receiver, you’d stop the game to throw the ball. The ball could even hit the ground first as long as it bounced or slid into the receiver. Only way we could get reasonable passing game. Yes, the offense had the power switch, and we stopped the game to pass. It was impossible to pass while it was buzzing. We would brush the players on the field but didn't know about the tablecloth thing! Quote

For you youngsters, this is the game. We had the Coleco and Tudor versions of electric football. They were different in many ways including the Coleco QB/Kickers throwing a magnetic ball on a masonite field whereas the Tudor QB (as seen in the video) threw a felt ball on a steel field. When you were bored you could adjust the speed control so that the players would start vibrating wildly and falling over, which was kind of fun. Our Tudor players came all white, which we painted to be Bills home unis and all yellow, which we painted to be the Packers home unis. 2 Quote

I would rather listen to Spero “Zap Brannigan” Dedes and Beth Mowins making sweet love on full stomachs than listen to Chris Brown. 3 Quote

You punks have no idea how difficult it was to throw a pass with that spring arm and felt A few years ago I finally took the vibrating football game from my Dad's house that had been there for over 50 years (my parents kept many of our old toys for years at their house for grandkids - choking hazards and other safety issues be damned - including original old school metal jarts ) Rescued may be more appropriate- I was moved to take action after I believe he mistakenly got rid of the slot hockey game from the same era that I told him to never get rid of I also made sure many years ago to grab the football, basketball (including Buffalo Braves) and hockey cards my brother and I both collected in the early 70's. We had complete or almost complete sets of football cards years 71-74 (I'll always remember Frenchy Fuqua he was the only player missing from one year). They had sat there for years as a kind of neutral zone so my brother and I didn't have to address the issue of who would get them or how to split - i think he thinks they are still there 😛 Edited November 27 by stevewin 2 1 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted November 27 Posted November 27 (edited) I'm hoping the town picks up leaves one last time. Our trees drop their leaves very late (four silver maples and one Norway maple. We just picked them up again yesterday for what will be the last time. We put them on top of the piles next to the street that we made last week. There are still a few leaves on the Norway maple. We'll have to mow those in the spring. When developers built the homes in our neighborhood back in the 1960s, they planted silver maples because they grow fast. I can give you a whole list of reasons why they make terrible trees for street planting. The late leaf drop is just one of them. On to a football response: In September, I would have rated San Francisco as one of the three toughest opponents Buffalo would face all season. Now, it is in the category of a "should win" game for the Bills. That, of course, depends on the Bills playing a tough clean game, keeping penalties and turnovers (on offense) down. It does look like weather is going to play a significant role on Sunday. Edited November 27 by BigAl2526 1 Quote

Not to mention he doesn’t really call the play as it’s happening. Overall it was not pleasant. They need an upgrade. I wanna like him.. he’s been with the Bills for so long …but he’s not really good at PBP. 1 Quote
