With about a minute left, BYU has the ball on ASU side of field. ASU intercepts and returns it inside the 5 yd line. BYU has 2 TO left

play 1 they do a typical run and time out.

play 2 The QB just runs the opposite direction about 30 yards back to try and burn time.

play 3 tries to run around a little more to burn some time. Loses about 5 or so yard. Thry let the clock run down to 7 seconds and gets a delay of game.

4 th down.  They decide to try and throw the ball up in the air.

they throw the ball up out of bounds…..clock goes to zero fans storm the field, goal posts are knocked down.fans need to clear the field.

BYU wants intentional grounding call

fans need to go back in the stands before play can occur.

The ball is around mid field and BYU has a Hail Mary shot.

the Hail Mary was caught but at the 2 yd line

I suspect the intention on the first drop back that lost 30 yards was the QB was supposed to chuck the ball high and far out of bounds like he did on 4th down, but the defense got through so quick he couldn't set up to throw so he ate it. If I'm wrong about that it just makes the whole sequence look that much worse. The coach has accomplished a lot in 2 years, but this was just a chicken ***** plan. Trust your players and play to win.

Football gods hate BYU? 🤔

Sorry, juvenile penchant to attach pseudo divinity to the situation.

If I ever get a tattoo, I am considering Reggie Jackson's gem "I am the straw that stirs the drink."
