Root for the Patriots against the Fish because there are very few things more satisfying than Fins fans renewed playoff hopes getting crushed.  Also, I'm rooting for minor one to two week injuries for the 49ers against the Packers.

That and I’m curious to see Drake Maye. I think he’s going to have me missing McCorkle.

Can desperate SF overcome injuries and the Packers at Lambeau?

Can streaking Arizona win their 6th in a row against a host Seattle team coming off their best win of the season (@ SF)?

Will Philly win their 7th in a row or will the Rams hold serve and win their 5th in the last 6?

Minnesota @ Chicago is mildly entertaining... will Caleb remain/regain his developmental momentun? Will Darnold turn into a pumpkin?

Can host Indy give  KC some anxious moments?

Who will win "The HarBowl" on MNF?

Harbowl is only good match up and that’s not on Sunday so I don’t count it as a bye week watch it’s Monday night and would be watched anyways

sf back up qb in and nfc matchup game that doesn’t affect us (probably only solid game)

idc about Arizona and Seattle we beat both of them and they are NFC if it’s close I’ll tune it at the end

Philly and rams are interesting but again NFC matchup with no real impact I might watch to see how the rams wrs match up vs phillys young cbs

bears vs vikes another nfc matchup go bears

panthers play kc another stinker game

Indy playing Lions this week

KC playing Carolina and it should be ugly

I'm thinking of skipping football entirely this weekend and instead taking my dog mountain biking or for a walk on the beach.  Or meditating at a Zen monastery in the mountains.

It may be sacrilege to say this here, but there's more to life than football.

At least on a non-Bills weekend.

His whole premise is flawed ( Aaron shatz). The data won't show up if looking for a trap game because it's rare by its own definition. That's why it's a trap game lol. What a stupid study 😭

The question is why would such an inferior team beat a much better team other than random bounces of the ball.

Weather and human psychology would be the only answer.

Duh lol

Well, if it's rare, then the odds of a loss when a better team plays an inferior team are small.  Which would mean the trap is usually, in effect, not a trap.

Because great teams play inferior teams every Sunday, and often it's coming off a big win

When two teams battle hard, they usually come out bruised and battered and even if the injury report isn't horrific, almost all the key players are not at their best.  So a letdown is hard to avoid.  That's why the #1 seed and the bye week are so critical.

The NFL would tell you an inferior team beats a much better team because of parity in the NFL - the margin between a great team and a losing team is smaller than people think.

Comments:
- Watch 3:35.  I still can't believe that play.  Allen ducks BETWEEN Dawkins and the Jets defender DDawk is blocking.

- at ~6:05 why is that not a "tackle out of bounds" penalty?  Mine spouse, who is NOT a football fan, was walking behind me was I watched it and said "was that a penalty?  He's (meaning Allen) out of bounds."  If a total non-fan sees it, what's up with the refs?  Is that the play where Spencer Brown had a "conversation" with Colts #20 and got fined for it?

-Brown should have got a commendation for encouraging player safety if so

- Love the use of "Mr Brightside"

- Jimbo is Good

Thanks for that Thing of Beauty, @HappyDays

LOL at this Chargers fan responding to this video, though.  SMH.  SMDH.

The other thing that keeps me interested when there's not a ton of attractive matchups is trying to figure out which Vegas underdogs will score the upsets.

While I'm not surprised that the Browns beat the Steelers, I didn't expect it.

That said I wouldn't be surprised if:

  • the Bears beat the Vikes (-3)
  • the Niners beat the Packers (-5.5)
  • the Rams beat the Eagles (-3)
  • the Chargers beat the Ravens (-2.5)

Ravens vs Chargers, but that isn't till Monday. Broncos vs Raiders might be interesting? Yeah, not a great matchup week.

Looks on the surface like a great week for betting. Till there's a freak upset like Colts over Lions or Pats over Phins.

Folks are giving the SF/GB game short shrift because of all the 9ers injuries, but I think that's a really good matchup between a couple teams fighting for their playoff lives.

OK, that TD to Knox against the Jets deserves more look.

This link just takes you to the "Highlights", scroll down and click on

"Josh Allen evades defenders to find Dawson Knox for 12-yard TD"

You can slow it down for a better look.

"OK, there's a gap, QB gonna come through and I'll tackle him....WAIT WAT?"

You're right.  If the 49'ers had Purdy, I think it's the GOTW.  Without Purdy and Bosa I'm thinking it's a very bad matchup for the '49ers

You could be correct - I could be giving the Pack too much credit and not giving enough credit to Shanahan's offense, which can adapt, it seems, to almost any QB

I dunno though - Brandon Allen?  Guy who couldn't see the field with the 2016 Jaguars?  2-7 record with Denver and Cincy?  Less than 200 passing yards average?  Just seems like a hella mismatch.
