Chiefs sign former Pro bowl OT Humphries

Suamataia is physically freakish but was so so raw coming out, an ideal situation for him would have been getting drafted to a team like the Bills or Eagles as a 3rd rounder where he could red-shirt a year while getting trained up. The Chiefs threw him in completely unprepared at LT. I don't know why, were they counting on the refs covering for him?

I think KC is going to struggle against Cleveland and Pittsburgh with those hungry pass rushers.

It’s a good move for them in my book.  Tackle is one of their biggest weaknesses, Humphries couldn’t be much worse than what they have.

Desperation. I said it the thread on OL.. you can find a trade for a skill position like WR.. you can even find a competent DE.. you will have to use the jaws of life to pry a competent OL off a team in-season.

Once Tyler Huntley and Mac Jones became "Former Pro Bowl QBs" it really became a parody of what it once meant.

It's a low risk move that gives them more then what they had 

 

But humphries is never even been Dion Dawkins level and God knows we've had people who wanted to replace him for years or kick him inside to guard lol

 

He's significantly better than humphries

 

So they're getting an old vet coming off a torn ACL.. I don't think he's in the top 15 of tackles or 20

Humphries had one solid season in 2020, when he was one of the top rated tackles. Otherwise he's been solid starter level.  Question tho is how recovered is that ACL?  Von and Tre White were shadows of their former greatness coming off ACL's  at least initially.

For sure-  he’s not star but he might provide a significant upgrade in play compared to the play they’ve had this season.
