He's not great but I think he'd be an upgrade at starting QB for Vegas, Tennessee, Carolina, New England, Chicago (not gonna happen), and the Jets. He never got much of a shot behind an OL that wasn't bottom of the league at pass protection. And yeah wtf is with the Giants putting him at practice team safety, that's embarrassing for the Giants I'd take Drake Maye over him already and no way I'm benching Caleb to play Daniel Jones despite some of Caleb's struggles. In Vegas, Tennessee or Carolina sure I'd start him. Quote

Jones is only at about $72 million in career earnings, according to over the cap. This is the right answer. Watson had sucked but he fooled one team. And my dumb*** was so qb thirsty I woulda gave my left nut to rent him for a year 🤣🤣 My golly please never let us back there. blue grapefruit engorged testicled man, at the fat bar. It's closing time, and Bradford looks like wife material....QB. Thirsty. It's amazing to no longer be in that bar 🤣🤣🤣 1 Quote

Thrn you have Cleveland with Watson/ Winston being a free agent teams needing QB….. jets— assuming the cut rodgers * Browns— I think thry will keep Winston * Titans— ??? Raiders — open job Giants Vikings- looking for a backup and go with the IRed rookie QB Panthers— look for a vet to come in Rams— I think they want a vet to back up Stafford if he doesn’t retire Quote

I think original question was which QB had accomplished the least BEFORE a big second contract. Obviously Rodgers and Wilson had won Super Bowls before. Even Watson had accomplished more over a longer period of time before his second contract with Houston or his contract with the Browns. I think there is a pretty good case for Jones being the least accomplished before signing. Sam Bradford and Brock Osweiler who were mentioned already are also good candidates though both were not with their second contracts were not with their original teams. One who hasn't been mentioned is Carson Wentz who was only really good for two thirds of a season before his 2nd contract. Edited 21 hours ago by Billy Claude 1 Quote

If I'm him, I'm breaking a leg in practice. Probably why they let him go He sounds like a process guy. He would probably be a better option than Mitch; he is more athletic and has a stronger arm. But we may be locked in with M.T.? Quote

At least allow him to see out the season as most of his errors are the boneheaded kind which, with the right coaching, could be ironed out. Quote

He was. The story coming out of NY when they were searching for HC’s was that Mara felt the Giants had failed DJ and his development and they were not prepared to move on from him. The big push for Daboll was his history with developing Josh Allen. 1 Quote

I think it’s about at least the possibility of starting in the relatively near term future. Rams is my best guess. Stafford is old. Jimmy G and Stetson aren’t roadblocks. Livinginthepast Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I can never understand why in the NFL these middling or unproven talents get offered such huge extensions and in most cases seem to immediately suck. Like dangling a carrot in front of a horse for a while and then giving him a whole bag of carrots with nothing achieved. These GMs seem to learn nothing. Quote

It's closing time, and Bradford looks like wife material....QB. Thirsty. It's amazing to no longer be in that bar 🤣🤣🤣 Living in St Louis, I got the inside scoop on the Bradford story. And Bradford kind of gets a bad rap. TL;DR inept coaching and untimely injuries derailed him. Yeah, he was the last Super-highly paid rookie who hadn't proven his NFL worth. But you can't blame him for that, it was the system at the time, and I truly believe Bradford was one reason teams pressed for that change. OK, Bradford year 1. Looked pretty decent under Steve Spagnuolo with Pat Shurmur as his OC. Keep in mind as HC, Shurmur also made Daniel Jones look pretty decent his rookie year. Too many INTs, but that's not uncommon for a rookie QB. Keep in mind the Rams were a terrible, no good, very bad team in 2009 (1-15) and with Bradford, they were actually a final game loss away from the playoffs! Bradford year 2. Spagnuolo loses Pat Shurmur to be HC of the Cleveland Browns and hires.......Josh McDaniel, who was just booted out as HC of Denver. It was horrible. McDaniel of course installed his super-complex and totally different terminology E-P offense. Now I grant that the Rams were still fundamentally a bad team who over-performed the previous season, but Bradford looked inept, totally inept. But he looked promising his rookie season! Was it Bradford, or was it McDaniel? Bradford also missed 6 games with injuries and ended on IR. Bradford year 3. Jeff Fisher takes over as HC, and hires Brian Schottenheimer as OC. Keep in mind that Schottenheimer was a guy who made Sanchez look OK. So once again, Bradford looks promising. He looks like he can play in the NFL. He delivers enough QB performance that a team could win with him. But at this point, the guy has had 3 different offensive systems and 3 different OCs in 3 years. Bradford year 4. 2nd year with Schottenheimer. Bradford finally looks like he might live up to his billing and be what the Rams hoped. First 7 games, he's hitting 70% completion at times, he's thrown 14 TD to 3 INTs - really looks good. Then, he tears his ACL and goes on IR. Bradford year 5. Lost season. Bradford re-tears same ACL in preseason game, and he's Done with the Rams. So yeah, the Rams didn't get their money's worth out of Bradford, but IMO it was largely a self-inflicted wound combined with some bad injury luck. With the Eagles, they re-united Bradford with Pat Shurmur and he played pretty well once he flaked the rust off. But, they fell in love with Carson Wentz and kicked Bradford to the curb, so he asked to be traded. With the Vikes, again with Shurmur, Bradford played well until his knee gave out on him and Keenum took over. 1 hour ago, Ridgewaycynic2013 said: I wasn't referring to the NFL. But I do remember a game where Daboll was seen SCREAMING at Josh on the sideline after an interception Reportedly Allen had a deep conversation with Beane and McDermott after that game, where he made promises to them to change his ways (this is by Allen's account). But the very next week, Daboll moved to the booth and never moved down, so there may have been some "what can we do to support you better?" discussion on their side as well. With Dorsey, the players had a campaign to put him in the booth, and after the Miami loss we saw why. Edited 15 hours ago by Beck Water 1 Quote
