I actually give them credit for a completely bullish move on from Jones and the failings. Probably their best chance to show the Mara/Tisch ownership they made an egregious mistake hitching their wagon to the QB. Hopefully it comes out as to whom, ownership or Daboll/Schoen, was responsible for handing him that contract. Steve Wilkes got one year of rookie Josh Rosen and got fired. Daboll “led” Jones to a breakout 15 td pass season and has been awful season but gets patience. there are so many double standards in coaching, 3 Quote

If I'm him, I'm breaking a leg in practice. Probably why they let him go The wording of that statement - Jones went straight to the owner - gives credence to the story that he was the owner's boy IMO. 1 4 Quote

Could be a reclamation project for a team willing to be patient with him. If any team convinces themselves he’s a starter, they should get fired right away. He’s not good. Decent backup I guess, Quote

Sweats Posted Friday at 04:46 PM Posted Friday at 04:46 PM Letting him go was strictly a business move........they don't want to be on the hook for any guaranteed money if he happens to hurt himself before the end of the season. Giving him that contract and then benching him was strictly a novice move by a hopeless FO. Quote

Billsatlastin2018 Posted Friday at 04:47 PM Posted Friday at 04:47 PM The NY Football Buffoons, first cousins to the Jests and the Cleveland Clowns DRAFTED this bum. He had 72 TDs, 48 INTs… several for Pick 6 & 29 fumbles lost! I believe in SIX years! And after these eedgits ponied up a boatload of ca$h ro keep him on… 😜🤪🙄 He’s gone 5-13! it’s on THEM! He’s a ***** bum, as befits a QB from Duke. They play round ball there! 1 1 Quote
MPL Posted Friday at 04:48 PM Posted Friday at 04:48 PM I saw they had Jones playing scout team safety at practice... yikes. 1 Quote
Mr. WEO Posted Friday at 04:48 PM Posted Friday at 04:48 PM The only thing the Giants have going for them is the Jets. At least one can argue that, recently, the Jets were trying to go all in. The Giants have been doing nothing of the sort since Daboll got there. Easily the worst team/organization in NJ... Mara/Tisch deserve all the scorn Woody is getting. They are clueless. 1 Quote
Coach Tuesday Posted Friday at 04:49 PM Posted Friday at 04:49 PM Have always wanted him as the long-term backup for Josh. Quote
WotAGuy Posted Friday at 04:49 PM Posted Friday at 04:49 PM There you go Daniel. Time to make friends with Woody and remain king of NYC. Quote
Fleezoid Posted Friday at 04:49 PM Posted Friday at 04:49 PM I can't understand why anyone would want him, even as a backup. He's inconsistent, inaccurate and has almost zero pocket awareness. 1 Quote

I don't believe Steve Wilkes had anywhere near that amount of success with Rosen. They were 9-7-1 and beat the Vikes twice that year (Jones’ best games of the year). The Vikes were frauds and a good matchup for the Giants. Jones was also in his 3rd or 4th year when Daboll got him. Imagine him getting rookie Jones and getting fired? Quote

Dillenger4 Posted Friday at 04:54 PM Posted Friday at 04:54 PM I'd take Jones over Trubisky any day of the week! Jones can run and can throw. He doesn't have an OL blocking for him. They have had trash lines for years. As a backup I'm all in and I hope Beane gets him. 1 1 Quote

He was replaced by a local sandwich. Agree, he was a bad draft pick, had minor success and his re-signing was total buffoonery move on behalf of their GM & HC , 1 Quote
