Cook has done it better, but the guy the ask to pass block most often is Ty Johnson. He is their trusted go to 3rd down back because he can stay in and protect or he can get out and catch a pass. It is why for the first time almost ever under this regime they are dressing three running backs without any of them being stud special teamers. Because they believe Johnson has so much combined value on 3rd down that he is worth a jersey. 

Josh recently said Ty Johnson was one of the best 3rd down backs in the NFL, really didnt understand the concept but after reading your comments makes sense.

Has anyone else noticed that Allen's deep ball miraculously looks better when Amari Cooper is the target? Must be a coincidence.

Yeah, I haven't rewatched the whole game, but have seen the highlights a bunch. Spags was bringing pressure all day. It was pretty much rushing 5 on second and longs and then rushing 6 or 7 on third and longs. Pretty consistently all day.

 

A few other plays where there was an all out blitz:

 

3rd and 8 in the first quarter, the first down pass to Samuel to the 3 yard line, the Chiefs rushed 6.

 

On Samuel's TD in the 4th quarter, the Chiefs rushed 7---with one peeling off with the RB as he swung out.

 

3rd and 9 on the last drive (the first down to Shakir, where he got hit in the back), the Chiefs brought 7.

When we drafted him I went for his highlight reel. The running was obviously impressive (it IS highlights), but what stood out to me most was there was an entire section of him in pass protection. He was VERY willing and effective, and it wasn’t just a few plays.

He was bitching about Cook not being in the game that much against the Chiefs, and I tried to explain it's because the running lanes are clogged, the Chiefs are blitzing a lot, Cook has had some dropsies, and Ty Johnson (and even Ray Davis) is a much better blocker. He couldn't believe the Bills were keeping "their best player" off the field, thought the Bills deserved to lose, and the Bills coaches were terrible.
