The Lions/Bills is the obvious choice for CBS to protect and they're going to promote the heck out of it hoping to get close to Bills/Chiefs ratings. Quote

They are going to protect this one for sure. CBS is never going to flex this game with one exception. They wouldn’t move it to 1pm, and they won’t give up the game. They don’t own SNF, nor MNF so in what world would they give up a cash cow that is nationally televised at 4:25 pm on Sunday. The one exception is if CBS is granted a Saturday night slot on CBS, and then only then could move it to 8:20 pm on Saturday night. It’s the same reason the Bills/KC game was not flexed as there was still college football on Saturday nights that weekend. Mid December is different as all the rivalry games are over for college this weekend, and the Bowl games are not primarily until the end of December and January. Quote

I think he means it stays with cbs but they move it to the less profitable window for some unknown reason. Edited November 29 by Matt_In_NH Quote
sullim4 Posted November 29 Posted November 29 The thing that continues to worry me about this game is the turf at Ford Field. Yet another Thanksgiving in Detroit, and yet another ACL tear during the game. 2 Quote

CBS already reported yesterday on their thanksgiving broadcast, the main crew will be in Detroit for the broadcast. It’s not charging. If we both win the next two games and them next week, the ratings will probably be higher than even the last nationally cbs televised game. Quote

The NFL is beholding to their network contracts. CBS is focusing their entire pregame show in Detroit, amd have exclusivity on their network nationwide. That’s not changing just because some don’t like 4 pm games. I never understood for people who get up early for work are so heck bent on night games when they as evidenced at 4:25 pm in Bills/Chiefs game. That network share was higher than the night games that weekend. It’s not changing. Besides, you make dinner time halftime so 5:45pm and enjoy the game. A little better than done at midnight, amd for a lot I f us who are up at 5 am every work day. Quote
HT02 Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Has anyone seen the ticket prices for this game??? I was hoping to take my family to the game because I lived in Detroit for about 12 years and wanted to go on a little nostalgia tour. The CHEAPEST for 6 tix is $750+ fees. That is crazy. $717ea + fees for 2 tix. Quote

UKBillFan Posted November 30 Posted November 30 I swear I read that a couple of other late afternoon games - Pats at Cardinals/Colts and Broncos? - are on CBS so how can it be a national game akin to the Chiefs one? Have they given their other games to Fox? Quote

The only Canadians who may not are in the Detriot surrounding area like Windsor. 1 Quote
