I don't love the song but it's whatever at this point, I'll usually half-ass participate and sing along at the stadium but everybody in my section was looking at each other like Wtf why would you play the song right now, this game is NOT wrapped up yet. This is bad juju etc...and I would imagine a lot of people throughout the stadium were feeling the same way at the Ravens game.

I don’t think it’s about playing the song after the game has been decided.  It’s meant to get the team and the stadium fired up.  The Steelers play renegade in the 4th qtr and the game is rarely already wrapped up when it’s played. It gets the players hyped and could give them more juice.

This year in particular they have been definitely using it as a celebration song once the game is clearly wrapped up.  It's why they always do it at different times and why I'm sure they did it while they did during the Ravens game otherwise they might not have been able to fit it in at all.

But yeah the Steelers always use Renegade as a 4th quarter rally song

Josh and his teammates requested the song to be played.

I've never seen that they requested it and that's why the Bills began playing it.   It's a commonly played pop sing-along song at sporting events everywhere that's really directed toward an age/race demographic that tends to spend a lot of money on merchandise etc..  One of the keys to getting deeper into their wallet is making the experience seem catered to them.  Marketing 101.  Pretty certain you have it backwards and that the Bills started playing it and then Kincaid, Knox and Hollins and maybe Josh got into it.   It's a very small group that "vibe" to it.

Hey! Don’t be killing my buzz. I haven’t heard the song yet.

Just checked out the song/video on YouTube. This is what passes as a stadium anthem? Whatever.

Rock on with your bad selfs out there.

The Priest at my sister’s wedding went on a rant about not being sure why we even bother! Half of them end up divorced anyway! Well, thank you for those warm words on the day of my sister’s wedding, Fr Timlin.  Yes, we still remember and talk about you.

I’m in church thinking WTF about the priest. This may not end well for me.

.

He missed the lecture on "How to read the room" at seminary.

Was played at Knox’s wedding.  That’s why it’s a team thing.

Link

I heard Knox say that he told his wife he wanted to play it at their wedding and Knox soon to be wife didn't really want it played, i guess because so many team mates were there is why Knox wanted it played .

But if what the other fella said in a prior post that the song is about the guy in the song cheating on his girl i can understand why his now wife wouldn't wat it played .

I for one have never heard the song i may need to go to youtube and listen so i can make a determination on it . But if it gets the Boys pumped please someone bring a HUGE BOOM BOX to the chiefs game or have a covert operation to take over the sound booth at Arrow Head and play it during the game ...

GO BILLS !!!!

Not sure what the song means…

Juat a little weird when the whole stadium sings “He takes of her dress now”….🤣

Regardless, love the energy it brings to games and when the whole stadium sings, it is amazing!!

I think the appeal of this song has nothing at all to do with its lyrics.

It's a Bonding anthem is what it is. It's a catchy tune with a  fun back story

And it is Now a part of the lore which is Bills Mafia.

The world doesn't have to understand us. They just have to deal with us.

That's what I think. 💃🏿

It's a very important group that vibe to it.  It gets them hyped and I can't understand why fans of Josh, DK, Dk and Hollins would not support them.

I think those of you who disapprove of it should petition Bills PR group to have it stopped immediately.   These athletes make enough money to listen to music on their own time and not when they are being paid to entertain you.

What is amazing about this topic is that fans act as though this is the only song played at Bills games at Highmark.

The fact that fans that show disdain that it is being played is crazy.

Suggestions that they should play AC/DC or any other song is f'n stupid.

They do play other songs.

Are the angry that Josh, Kincaid,  Knox, Hollins and others don't get hyped up when other songs are played?

It the dumbest TSW thread of all time.

We are on the verge of an unexpected chance to play for another Lombardi trophy and the morons here are butt sore because they don't agree with the stadium playing a song that the players like.

Unreal.

They could play Mary had a little lamb for all I care.   If the players vibe to it..... crank it up to 11!

Yea, cause we all know what can happen when you bring a boom box to an opposing teams stadium...

For sure . Its a shame most forums are gone. I used to talk in a Powerlifting  forum and was able to keep with everyone and was going on and when Facebook took over the forum died and now no one talks on the face book groups either.
